Hi everyone!
I have been doing raw for several years now and my typical week is 100% raw Mon-Fri, but when the weekend hits, quite frequently I will drop down to 75% raw. Lack of preparation is a big part of it since if I am travelling on the weekend and find myself starving, I'm much more apt grab what's easy and accessible. Mozzarella sticks are a big one for me in situations like that! Even though I am raw most of the time overall, I still have a tough time losing weight. I do exercise at least 3 times per week (tennis, jogging, zumba). Maybe it's the avocados, dates and nuts? I've heard conflicting opinions on that. Some people say that they can eat whatever, but as long as it was raw, they still lost weight. That doesn't seem to be the case with me! I mentioned figs since I recently read someone comment that figs can actually impede weight loss? I seem to be one of those people that can't "get away" with anything -- I seem to have to be absolutely "perfect," or the scale doesn't budge. By the way, raw food for me is primarily about health, however, I also want to achieve my ideal weight as most people desire to. Sorry if this post is not very cohesive; my main question is, can anyone relate to this and do you have any tips to share that worked for you regarding weight loss? Thanks so much!

For me, I do not lose weight eating raw unless I am 100% raw. My weight is caused by many health issues, including several metabolic disorders. 100% raw allows my body to heal and I will start to lose the weight associated with my health issues. Also, being 100% raw helps me to be pain free so that I can exercise, which in turn helps me to lose weight. This is my experience....

100% raw is a huge factor. What's more important than anything else is what you are eating that ISN'T RAW. Those are the factors that are causing you to gain or not release weight. Be honest with yourself, write it all down, every mouthful of anything not raw and be accountable for them.

And then see about making changes. ;)

Of course green smoothies, water... are other factors that can assist you to release...

you say you fall down at weekends and this suggests to me that you aren't eating enough during the week. Especially if you are exercising that much. Eating too little promotes weight loss stagnation then you pig out at the weekend and gain weight. Does this seem likely to you?

From watching Brendon Brazer, i picked that over exercising will burn out your adrenal (due to too much stress) which will lead you to gain weight. The same phenomenal happened according to him when you eat cook food.

So rest, don't over do it with the exercise and stick to raw food. If you are going to make exception, choose steam vegetables only.

Dairy is bad bad bad news for you. Watch a diet for all reason and a diet for a new America. I was struggling to stick to vegan but after watching this, it gave me the faith that i was on the right path with raw vegan diet.

I noticed for me that when i started to make exception with raw food meaning, like you i would eat cook food (steam vegetables/rice) the rice would be the factor to make me gain weight. I would exercise but i wouldn't lose anything when i would do the rice.

You need to write on a paper what is important to you and then determine which one should go first. It could be well being, losing weight, health, comfort from food etc.... If you top priority is health or weight, then you will know what to do on weekend.

Learn how to make raw vegan cheese. It is truly so easy.

Alissa came to conclusion that we are addicted to cook food. If this is an addiction, we cannot make exception if we want to brake free from that. She suggest to commit to 30 days 100% raw food. If you already did this commitment, do another one.

All the best!
