Is there anything more perfect than a tomato?

I can eat lots more tomatoes than I could strawberries at a time. I'm rather partial to muskmelon or rock melons as I think you call them.

Cantaloupes then? Ours has the raised webbing on the skin and most are orange fleshed. My SO prefers honeydew melons. Mmmm... I can't wait until they are ripe and at the farmer's market here. I read they are dipped in some chemical to prevent molding and salmonella when you get them from conventional stores. :(

I never have understood the warning of tomatoes being nightshade fruits so be careful. Could anyone explain what the deal is with nightshades. I too love tomatoes and eat lots of them.

Some people can be nightshade intolerant and may suffer symptoms of arthritis from them Belladonna is a nightshade I believe and is a member of the same family though much more toxic, thus the warnings.

The only thing better than a tomato is a home grown tomato. Or do you say tomahto?

For me, there's nothing more perfect than saguaro fruit, the image I use for my profile. They taste like a cross between a strawberry and a watermelon and when they sun dry on the cactus they're like candy. The season for picking is so extremely short and its so extremely difficult to pick that every single fruit is precious. The picking season has just started, I'm so excited to get to eat a little bit every day. Hopefully I'll get to pick enough to dry and eat throughout the year but its hard to not just eat them!

Tomatoes are pretty tasty.

Little sweet ones with loads of flavour picked fresh off the vine. Yuuuuuuum.

I like tomatoes too. At times when salad I tend to eat first tomatoes. I don't know what's on it but the taste is really delicious.

ok now that i think about it, any food is perfect when its perfectly ripe and in season :Oa tree ripened grapefruit is a thing of beauty! Also someday I would love to try a tree ripened banana!
