View Full Version : Best low-pulp low-speed juicer

I am preparing to buy my very first juicer - yay!!
However it's a very daunting process - it's not a small investment; so I could really use some personalized advice, since Google is giving me a headache now. :P
My biggest concern is that, since I have a bit of a personal issue with the texture of food/drink, I am looking for a juicer that produces the lowest possible amount of pulp.
I have also done my research and understand that a low-speed juicer yields more nutritional content in the juice than do high-speed juicers.
Can anyone recommend any good low-pulp, low-speed juicers that I could research specifically? Google is throwing me so many hits that now I'm just confused!!
Thanks in advance! :D

Jenna, I have used 4 different juicers. I always go back to my greenstar -- slow speed, great tasting juice, no pulp in the juice, multi function machine, will last forever.
I have used
.... a champion, it worked fairly well actually. My daughter-in-law is using it now and she likes it.
.... a breville - do not like it at all -- very noisy, wastes a lot of produce (wet pulp), spins so you should drink the juice fairly quickly;
.... a hurom (similar to the omega vrt) - it works fast, but i don't like this one at all - the juice has heaps of pulp in it so you have squeeze it out through a nut milk bag.
of course, there is always the Norwalk if you have a couple Grand to spend. Short of that, I'd seriously check out the GreenStar.
Obviously, there are a lot of other juicers out there. I'm sure folks will share with you what they are using and the pros/cons of them.

You are right slow juicers produce nutrient rich juices with high yield. These kind of juicers are also known as masticating juicers.
Basically there are two categories of juicers
1. centrifugal Juicer - Rotate at very high speed of around 10000 to 130000 rpm. These will give you a glass of juice in just 10 seconds. Juices most kinds of fruits and non-leafy vegetables.
2. Masticating Juicer- Rotate at around 100 rpm. Produce nutrient rich juice with high yield. Can juice fruit, vegetable and leafy green.
Following are the two best masticating juicers in the market.
Omega Vrt 350 HD
Omega 8006 produce crystal clear and pulp free juice. It can juice everything from fruits, vegetables, leafygreens but excels in juicing leafy greens. It can also make baby food, nut butters, frozen desserts etc.
Omega Vrt 350 HD produce little pulpy juice.
Since you need pulp free juice I recommend Omega 8006.

I've just spent the past few weeks researching for myself. There's a ton of videos a guy has done on juicers and it's likely what's already been mentioned. Today I put an order in for the Kucings NS-750. It's been mentioned only once on this forum and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's new. On the videos it ranked pretty equal to the omega vrt350 which is really good -I think. They're both slow masticating blenders, and what I like is they take up little counter space. I went with the Kuvings because I found a better price for it here in Canada. Check out http://www.kuvings.com/01product/product_view.asp?model_code=NS-750&menu=A001 They have the videos on this site too. Let us know what you decide.
