Okay. Since I'm pretty new to this and I don't exactly have a lot of money to buy fresh produce.. I just want to see if you guys think I am getting enough... or too much? idk. I am somewhat active, chasing my 12 month old all day.
Here is an example of what I will eat in a day.
Breakfast Smoothie, Flax, banana, orange, spinach or kale, and some mixed frozen fruit.
Snacks, cup of nuts or mixed berries.
Lunch- Kale salad with olive oil, tomatoes, avocado, onion
Snacks, cup of mixed frozen fruit
Dinner - Zucchini pasta with sauce or chick pea hummus. (yes i know my hummus isnt raw :()
Input?

Only you can really know if you're eating enough. Eat when you're hungry and try and listen to your body :)
I'd say this is about fine but if you're eating this and feeling like you're hungry all the time, eat more. If you're forcing this down because you feel you should eat even though you're not hungry, don't.
You body knows what it needs. :) How much food your body needs could change. When I first started eating raw I ate LOADS but by week 2 or 3 I was eating very light indeed. I find that once you're used to raw you don't need to eat as much as you would with cooked foods to feel satisfied.
Oh I adore hummus too! Try this recipe: http://www.nataliakw.com/projects/sunny-hummus/
I don't make it in big batches as it doesn't keep well for more than a couple of days. I love different styles of hummus from the super market too such as Caramelised Onion, Moroccan, Lemon and Coriander... I often make different flavours raw by making raw versions of these things.

That doesn't sound like much to me, but only you can know (like PansyLo stated).
If you feel good and have energy then keep at it.
If you start to feel lethargic or have symptoms of hypoglycemia (nausea, headache, excessive sweating, chills) then eat more!
Also, although counting calories is not recommended by Alissa Cohen it is important to realize that your body will go into starvation mode if your calories get to low (under 1200).

Do you really put flax in your smoothies?
Yuck, blech....I could never do that...lol...good for you for getting those EFA's in, though!

I definately know when not eating enough. I get weak and have that "I have to get something now feeling" I agree with the thought to listen to your body, your day sounds busy enough without going through the hassle of counting calories, stop, breath and listen. I like flax in my smoothies but grind them first in a coffee grinder so they won't make the smoothie not so smooth. Chia pudding is a quick and filling breakfast or snack especially when you throw in some fruit.

What i love about this raw food journey, is that you can simply go with your body (not addiction craving).
Meaning, if you are hungry you eat, if you aren't then you don't. This is how you know if you have eaten enough.
Everyone is different, your menu could not be enough for some and too much for others. Someone that i have done many detox and has been on a raw journey for a while, will have an incredible capability of absorption.
So the question would be for you? Are you hungry?
The sooner you go on 100% raw food, the more your ability to absorb nutrient easily will boost. The less we eat, the younger we stay. It has been proven over and over with research done on animal. They live longer on a restricted diet. Raw food, will lead you to that.
You can find amazing raw humus recipe, i would consider this.
All the best!

I have been trying to find the right amount of food to eat during the day also. We have been raw for nine days now and I believe there were a few days where I was not eating enough. I have since been eating more and am feeling better when I do. I also believe everyone is different and that you need to listen to your body also like the other people were saying.
We have so far made raw pesto and raw hummus! Both were great and I was just tickled silly that we could make our own raw pesto and hummus. We did a zucchini pasta with our pesto both times and made lettuce wraps with our hummus.
I am newer to this, but had this thought for myself. When I was not eating raw, there were times when I would eat a really big meal until I was just good and full. Not that I don't get full with raw meals, because I do. What I am saying is there would be those times where I was just extra hungry and would eat like three pieces of chicken versus two or something. I feel like at least for now as I am new to this. I need to do the same thing with the raw foods sometimes. Just eat a bigger meal than I might normally. I did one night and I felt great the next morning as if i had gotten everything I needed. Anyways good luck with finding your food balance. I am off to make myself a big ole juice this morning, because that feels right.

They don't even taste like anything if you grind em up into powder first! :)

I guess I can tell when I'm not eating enough because I start to want the unhealthy food my boyfriend is always eating.
I guess I just wanted to see what everyone else is eating.
