My mother now chases the elixir that is raw and as of today my boyfriend is on the raw love train. If the three of us can keep each other motivated that will be really great.

I feel that you are like magic and inspire others because you are just you and do what is best for you.
You must be radiant of health after all of those month of raw food.
I am so happy for you, this is so much great news.
All the best

that's very sweet of you but I think it's my lack of radiance lately because I have been not very raw at all lately. I have still been eating lots of raw foods but lots of rubbish too. Back on track 100% today though.

My mum was totally going to try it when I was talking about it.
But then when my brother was home she just ended up joining in with him in making fun of me. I think it's more of a influence thing where she doesn't want to look stupid in front of him.
I don't know about my boyfriend, probably not his thing. He was wanting to get healthier recently and was talking about quitting drinking for a while but he loves biscuits waaaay too much to go raw haha!
I don't really care what other people eat, it's their choice. I can totally understand why people wouldn't want to go as extreme as this. I respect other peoples choices and hope that they respect mine by not giving me greif for my diet! I'd like other people to try it because it does make me feel amazing and it would be cool to have other people in the same boat as me but it's pretty unlikely.

My mother has been trying it a while and has slipped back into old ways lately but does recognise that she felt better on raw and is going to go back to high raw. My bf says he's trying it for a week and will take it from there. I'm just here to advise what is and isn't raw vegan.

The thing about raw food it isn't addictive and many don't even realize that cook food is indeed addictive. Because of this addiction, Alissa got it right to teach about gourmet, because it gives you the reassurance that we can do 100% raw. So i hope, they will see such a difference that it will be enough for them to believe in it and suppress the desire to cook food. One week is great and perhaps they will feel inspire to stick with raw food longer to truly see the difference.

That's really wonderful! I'm lucky my SO is willing to try being raw with me. Though we still aren't completely raw either. It's a struggle for both of us, but we're getting there. We've cut out a lot of things over the past couple years, and we do grow sprouts to eat. Most people I mention raw to look at me like I'm nuts.
Last time I went to the doctor he was so convinced my bloodwork would show I was diabetic. His agenda he's been pushing at me for the last few years since I'm quite overweight. I got my letter from him with my test results and he was surprised! I've managed to combat my normal anemia and this was the first time in a several years that it was perfectly normal. I swear it's all the dark leafy greens I've been eating. My A1C wasn't even that bad. He had said something about potentially wanting to put me on diabetic medication and that he would have to monitor me more closely (he knows I only like to see him that once a year when I have to LOL). I told him what if I refuse and he kinda gave me a blank look. That's when I told him about raw food and he kinda scoffed at the idea. I told him I would prove it!
I've gained a lot of knowledge from this board on raw food and nutrition. MT, I love how you think about raw food. You and several others (DebB, Revvel, Arky, delmar, Mr. Raw, Raw Angel Mom and I'm sure a bunch more I can't recall off the top of my head) have been extremely helpful in my quest for better health, not just with information but with your attitudes about raw food in general as well.
So thank you MT, and everyone else who posts here!

Day four for my BF. He still drinks tea and coffee but without his usual sugar and milk. He has been grinning from ear to ear for the past two days and this afternoon he said that he doesn't like the high he gets from coffee because it spoils the high he gets from raw. Today he has helped clear out the non-raw food from the shelves because he thinks he will be doing raw for longer than a week. He suggested we go to a health food shop and I explained to him about how so much of what they were selling wasn't raw. He says it's fun reading labels. So far so good though he says he misses bread.
