There is no right way. We all follow our own path. On this forum we believe that you should eat what you want when you want it but it must be raw and not heated above 118 degrees.
If you buy Alissa's first book it will get you started on the right path.

I highly recommend Alissa's book. It very informative and motivating! :)

It was the best thing I bought when starting up, even though I was totally broke at the time I'm glad I was able to put a bit of money aside to invest in it. I would never have got as far as I did or realised that raw was so easy and doable without it.

Alissa's book is very helpful for sure. I'm not sure which websites you've been looking at but raw food should always be just that - raw. Any site that suggests cooking food is not promoting a raw lifestyle.

Stay away from cook food if you can. If this is too harsh to go 100% raw, then you can consider steam vegetables. Alissa highly recommend to commit to 100% raw for at least 30 days. She said that you need this time to brake free from cook food addiction. I personally can confirm that it has been true for me.

All the best.

p.s Just do raw food. You can just do apple, celery and carrot for a very long time. Just to let you know, how simple this is. If you get Alissa's dvd, you will learn about how to prepare raw gourmet food and many great tips.
