I really love to have a cup of tea with some cookies. I couldn't find raw buckwheat, but I do have some wheatberries. Can I sub some sprouted wheatberries and maybe some flax for the buckwheat.
I should able to get some buckwheat in the next week or two, but I want something for my sweet tooth and soon. I was hoping to start making some stuff with grains and using my dehydrater.

I am so with you, I love a warm tea with cookies, maybe a shortbread cookie...just memories now ;)
I would give it a try. Maybe it won't come out exact, but still sounds like you'll be turning out a great cookie.
Could you let me know how your recipe works for you???
Thanks!

Would you happen to have any oat groats? If so, try soaking those overnight and using those in place of the buckwheat. But the wheat might work out well for you too! Let us know how they turn out. I like those cookies, but buckwheat can be an acquired taste for many..you might like them even better with a different kind of grain.

Truthseeker. I am willing to bet that if you did indulge in that tea and shortbread you would be dissapointed. Sometimes happy memories are happiest as memories.
Mmm...tea cookies! Just flipping through Alissa's book, I saw that there is a recipe for Lemon Poppyseed Cookies. Has anyone tried these, and if so, are they tea cookie-esque?

Oh ya you've stirred up the ol' memories now. A nice cuppa tea with Scottish All-Butter short bread.... hmm... (the kind you hide away from the kids cause they're so expensive)

Gosh, I had such a strange dream that you were dunking me in a warm cup of tea and snapping me in half.

SO FUNNY !!! You guys are great!
Yes Essensual, thank you for snapping me back to the here and now.
And Sport you are SO right. The memories I have of these things are better left as memories. I've tried several pieces of what use to be my favorite candy (this Halloween) and was SO dissapointed !!! And ? confused ? none of them tasted like I remembered.
just sighed, went into my kitchen and made me some GREAT raw fudge!

We have leftover Halloween candy in the house and I don't even want to taste it. It just looks....bad. My babies haven't had any either. Only my husband is eating it. I'd rather eat dates.

LearningTogether,
Did you ever make the Almond Butter Raisin Cookies? Has anybody made Lemon Poppy or Chocolate Chip cookies?

Ya'll have me laughing! I was dreaming of cookies too, when Essensual came with her ruler clapping me on the head! LOL Thank you. Is there a cookie recipe out there that IS cookie-esk? LIGHT, like a shortbread cookie? Maybe, I'm thinking cashews, bananas? I guess I'll have to come up with our recipe? I'm good at this yet, but maybe I should start practiciing!
