View Full Version : Juice Fasting and Diverticulitis

A friend asked me if I had any articles on how fasting could be beneficial to someone who has an intestinal perforation due to diverticulitis. Son-of-a-gun, but I can't find any definitive articles. She and I both believe it would give his intestines a rest, while at the same time provide some nutrition. His doc told him to eat a bland diet of cooked noodles etc, and we think raw juice would be best, but he won't listen to us! We need some info to back it up and I can't find any.
Perhaps some of you have found some articles based on this or have some firsthand experience.
Thanks in advance,
Mary Kay

Prayers being said for the person/all persons involved. I believe juicing can heal and will only help, although I know very little about this specific application of it. I do know the gut will be allowed to work less and receive more dense nutrition in the process. I will ask my Lord to provide all that is needed for healing.

Thanks Walnutty and Streetsurfer. LOL, Streetsurfer, we all KNOW raw juice would help heal his gut but we wanted to have it from some "authority" not a relative, etc. KWIM?
And Walnutty it is the patient who doesn't really even know anything about raw-juice fasting. He's the one who is skeptical about listening. (LOL, prob the doc too but that's not who we're trying to convince).
Walnutty, thank you SO much for taking the time to look those up and post the links!!!! Especially the one about the raw juice and the pepper powder! I didn't know that!
Thanks again, anybody else have any more, keep 'em coming.
