Hi,
There is a new local charity cafe being setting up in my local town, and i've been asked to promote green smoothies at one of their trial days to see how people respond. Obviously, this is a great opportunity, and so I need to maximise it, because how I promote the green smoothies could determine whether people take a further interest or reject them.
My plan is to make samples to hand out. I'm going to make them very fruity and only use spinach for the greens for the trial because it is very palatable. I am going to make information sheets to hand out explaining the health benefits of green smoothies. And other than that, I am hoping that my passion will encourage people to try them.
What I could do with is some ideas about how to make the most of this opportunity. It would be great to hear your thoughts and ideas, and hopefully this trial can be made a success and introduced permanently into the cafe.
A further consideration is that the cafe is being set up as a communal area for people in recovery from addiction, so any benefits regarding recovery from addiction like reduced cravings, organ regeneration etc. would help me to sell green smoothies even more.
Thank you in advance! :)

I make a chocolate one. Sunflower seed milk. Sunflower and alfalfa sprouts, Raw chocolate powder and agave, It tastes so yummy.
Good for you. I asked at whole foods for a green smoothie and they said they can't do that to there blenders.
I would target about 5 kick as_ recipes. find the best ones there are. Use those for your samples. I wouldn't label them as Green smoothies but just say smoothies. Why couldn't you make fruit smoothies also so you are not limited. You don't want to scare anybody away either. They might come 5 days for the fruit and the 6th say let me try that one the green one.
Coupons are huge now I would also canvas the area handing out flyers introducing your smoothies with a coupon for a free one. Buy one get one free. etc. You could have a punch card buy 10 and the 11 one is free. or to start buy 5 six one is free. Then go to 11th free. People love free stuff if they feel like they are getting a bargain they will run there for it.
Good luck I am very excited for you. Hugs.

Arhhh awesome! Thank you! A chocolate smoothie would be great - a real seller, and I could sneak in some real goodies under the flavour, maybe some wheatgrass powder, a bit of spinach, anything not overpowering.
I'm going to buy just a few basic ingredients. I'll go with frozen fruits for ease of use and storage, so mango, pineapple, berries etc. and then have the greens to go on top should they want to go green. And yes, great point about just calling them smoothies! Thank you again. :)

Your welcome. I love change and doing new things. FYI. I hate adding ice to smoothies. I think freezing the fruit would be fine. especially berries, they don't keep long at all.

This sounds like a great idea. I have been doing green smoothies recently and I enjoy them a lot. I have tinkered with the ingredients but for the most part I like to use kale, cucumber, granny smith apples, and pineapples. All of the ingredients are fresh except the pineapple which is organic frozen. Using spinach instead of kale is probably a good idea for new comers to green smoothies.

Really Traceyraw? My Whole Foods has a whole menu of green smoothies and juices as well. Maybe write to their corporate offices to see if your Whole Foods is going rogue!! lol

Really, I just make my own. I like making my own stuff better anyway. That was 3 years ago I still don't see green smoothies on there menu unless you add spirulina.

I love your idea of sample hand out.
I would print also or write all of the symptom when you are chlorophyll deficient and promote that green smoothie is rich in chlorophyll.
All the best!
