Do any of you take turmeric daily for inflammation?

If so, how much do you take?

I just purchased a pound of organic turmeric and want to start taking it in water for my inflammatory diseases.

Thanks!

I just found this recipe: http://www.rawfoodrecipes.com/recipes/inflammation-reducing-tumeric-coconut-water-cocktail.html

For those of you who take it, does 1-2 tsp. in water (or coconut water or fresh juice) sound about right?

I'm really interested in those here that are fighting inflammation with turmeric. How much do you need to feel a real difference in pain?

Thanks again!

Hmmm, I don't really suffer from inflammation. I just add a few dashes of turmeric to my green/fruit smoothies as an anti-cancer ingredient. I figure it can't hurt, and I never taste any of the turmeric in my smoothies. I also add cinnamon, which usually dominates the flavor. So, perhaps the fact that I haven't had inflammation is a good sign?

I have turmeric in my green smoothies every day...I was using about a heaped teaspoon, but now just kind of sprinkle in that amount approximately. I try to whack in about an inch or so of the root when I can get it, instead of the powder, of course. I personally don't take it for pain, and definitely not for the taste with that amount, but aside from the ridiculous amount of nutritional benefits, I find it can be quite pretty good at balancing hormones, as well keeping a non-runny nose!

I use it occassionally. I mix it in honey with cinnamon and maca. About equal parts combined powders to honey.
I will also add to food or drink.
I grate fresh when we have it on foods as well.
It sure seems to help my pain when I need it and use it regularly. I think it provide an overall feeling of well being. Maybe because of other qualities to it. I don't know....is it adaptogenic like maca?
