View Full Version : Hi from Romania!
Hello everyone!
My name is Myra and I'm starting to get interested in the raw food concept. I've been a foodie for years - and a meat person, but lately I'm trying to eat healthier and fresh. I am now having meat every once a month, or so, and I'd rather have vegetables instead.
It all started innocently (as it always does!), with me having raw mushrooms in my salad, instead of frying or boiling them. I do the same with cauliflower, broccoli and almost any other veggie. So I thought I'd give it a try for good, so I started researching and got here!
If you guys have any suggestions for raw-foodie starters, like me, please go ahead and post them! I'd love to be part of this community and try out ideas I find here.
Thanks!
Myra

Thanks a lot! I actually know 3 of them already - at least Ligia Pop is really well known here. But that's very sweet of you, researching for Romania :)
Is raw food a big deal in Ireland, in any way? I've been travelling a few times there, in the past months - and I haven't seen anything related. But again, I only went to regular places, I didn't research on raw menus.

to me in raw veganism making fresh nut and seed milks is important for good fats and protein = strength + energy
avacados and bananas are filling and easy to digest 24 / 7
i always make trail mix of seeds nuts dry fruit to have on hand or to carry with me to work or where ever , trail mix and fruit a quick anytime meal
So glad to hear about the nurse! :)) Yeah, most people here are welcoming and friendly!
The blog you recommended is really catchy - I'm gonna try and make the Almond Vanilla Milk this weekend http://thesunnyrawkitchen.blogspot.com/2007/12/santa-goes-raw-celebrating-holidays.html
I already had the best breakfast today, with avocado (I applied the bread & avocado idea from here http://www.foodyhomes.com/search/raw), it was tasty!
I'm already a fan of cashew nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, avocado (not bananas, hate those) - so I'm not having any trouble eating raw so far! I'm now actually having 70% raw, 30% cooked food - but I'm on the right track!
Thank you!!

There are a lot of us in Ireland and we have help each other out. Next time you are coming to Ireland get in touch with me and we will see if we can entertain you better.
Thank you, I will! This summer I'll sure get there :) I'm really excited about discovering the "raw Ireland"!
