Hi all,
I wanted to start a conversation on how raw foodism has affected your spirituality - has changing your diet/lifestyle brought you to a new level in your spiritual practices, or opened you up to a new path?
Thanks in advance for being respectful of everyone's journey, and for participating

I've noticed that I no longer deal with angry people. It's like I'm not on their same angry vibration so they would rather not deal with me. For example.....when going produce shopping. The people around me in line are happy and fun to chat with and the check out person is also happy. It's as if "magically" everything falls into place to where I am only around happy people. :-)

That certainly is in keeping with vibration theory :) By eating foods of a higher vibration, your vibration increases too! Anything of a lower vibration can't come to you or be experienced by you.

It can be... if you choose it to be. You aren't immune to lower vibrations.
Once you live your life in joy... eating foods that bring you joy... and filling the moments of your day with joy... then joy finds you. It seeks you out. It wraps itself around your soul and embraces you.
Such a great way to live THIS moment.

Where can I read more about this vibration theory?
I keep hearing about it but never in great detail. I'd like to know more.

PansyLo, I've read a number of books and while they all say the same thing, the trick is finding a writer/teacher who explains it in a way that makes sense to you.
I'd recommend you start with going to Youtube and looking up Abraham Hicks, for a taste. :) Another good one is Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith. He livestreams (http://www.agapelive.com/) services and speaks frequently about vibration - I'd say weekly, actually. Ekhart Tolle is another. Check 'em out, if any of them speak to you, they have books available.

In my experience eating a raw diet definitely has an effect on your overall state of being and clarity. That said, I don't think it wise to develop a set of limiting beliefs around it. Ultimately, spirituality has little to do with whatever "state" is being experienced, and a lot to do with that which is experiencing all states (good, bad, pleasant, unpleasant, etc..). So enjoy the good vibration, but don't get caught up in it. Just one point of view:)

Thank you Lexie! :D I've checked a few out!
I'm going to have a listen to the Rev's service this Sunday. I'm not sure if it'll be my thing as I prefere people who are more down to earth when it comes to these things where as he is very in your face and big out there with it. It's a bit kooky looking but I'm willing to have a listen and see what I learn. : )
I feel like spirituality is something I haven't come into yet but may develop when I'm older.
Since going raw (or learning about raw I'm not high enough raw to be considered raw atm) my attitude towards some things is changing.

I definitely attribute raw to my spiritual progress. Before I would attempt to be spiritual, with very little success. Raw & brief fasting allowed me to really experience being spiritual. It's a nice added bonus. :)

Matt Monarch discusses this quite a bit.
You can find him at Raw Spirit dot org and on you tube at The Raw Food World TV Show.

I don't think there is a connection between eating and spiritualism, but sure enough healthy and raw eating have a positive effect on your mind, body and soul. Even the vibe that you get from other persons are positive coz you feel happy at heart.
Raw food is great (provided one doesn't make it into a personal religion, and provided one retains a decent amount of perspective on it), but in terms of meditation and peace of mind in handling life, Holosync has done infinitely more for me than raw food ever has.
Each to their own...

Listening to the rain is a good alternative Holosync - so I am told - much cheaper too and suitable for those of us without electricity. Not so helpful perhaps if you live in a drought-stricken place of course ;)

Google it but in (very) short it's sound used to "facilitate" meditative states of mind. it seems to come with a high price, aggressive sales pitch and cultish band of followers.
That Arky rates it highly leaves me in a dilemma; do I now think more of the programme or less of Arky lol.

I just heard Dan the life regenerator speak about vibrations. It was from his Aryvuda ??? Raw living foods have a natural energy vibration when we start taking in these high vibrating foods the toxins and things plugging our natural vibration start to work there way out "DETOX" . Made sense he goes into more detail on you tube. I thought it was interesting.

LOL! That's a much more ironic statement than you appear to realise, MysticTree!
If anything has an aggressive sales pitch and a cultish band of followers it's raw veganism!
Hey-ho.
That aside, I'll address the concerns you raised, since I hope it should be fairly obvious to you that I'm not a 'cultish' kind of person - not about Holosync, and not about raw foods or veganism, or religion, or anything else for that matter. 'Cultish' is in the person, not in the product. All products, and indeed all philosophies, will draw people from a wide variety of backgrounds and with a wide variety of psychological dispositions. Some will have a disposition to follow cultishly, others will simply take what they find useful and not hold onto it any more tightly than that. To label the product as cultish is therefore putting the cart before the horse, so-to-speak.
Sales pitch - well, it's marketed in a typically slick, American internet business kind of way, yes, but I'm not sure the term 'aggressive' is appropriate.
Cost - this one I will fully agree with you about - Holosync is expensive. I do believe it should be 30-40% cheaper than it is. However, that is in terms of material value. In terms of the actual benefits one stands to gain from using the course of meditation soundtracks for a period of 7-10 years, it's an absolutely astounding bargain. I can say this because I've experienced it firsthand, over several years.
The problem is that people who are considering the purchase do not have an understanding of the true power of structured binaural entrainment soundtracks. From a casual layperson's perspective, it looks like every man and his dog is selling a binaural meditation soundtrack of some sort, some very cheaply, and there is therefore a temptation to believe that it's all the same and that anything more expensive than the cheapest must be a dubious rip-off. It's natural to draw this conclusion, but it's unfortunately very misguided. I should also point out that many of the competitors who slate Holosync and market their own soundtracks as an alternative are hilariously rabid and hypocritical in their approach, often deliberately using the name 'Holosync' in their taglines in order to piggy-back on the traffic of the very product they claim to disdain! That should speak volumes in itself...
Anyway, I am fortunate in that I didn't find Holosync (or the hypocritical, 'wannabe', competitors) and tangle with any marketing. Instead, it was recommended to me by someone whose opinion I respected. And I'm extremely glad I followed their recommendation.
The key difference between Holosync and other binaural meditation soundtracks is that Bill Harris (the guy behind Holosync) has walked his talk for a great many years now; long before the internet took off, and he makes an extraordinary effort to support his customers, both personally and with a team of support staff, and, more than anyone else I've ever encountered in the industry, Bill actually understands what binaural entrainment does to the brain.
It is not just about getting into a meditative state!
Binaural soundtracks, over a period of months and years, accelerate a process of evolution of the neural structure of the brain which, for classically-trained meditators not using entrainment, usually takes several decades. But in order to accomplish this process of acceleration, the soundtracks must be precisely structured in a way that 'leads' the brain, over time, in a logical series of steps, to develop such changes.
This gets really deep, and I am fully able to explain it, but I don't feel that's necessary here and now, in this reply (very basically-put, it's a case of inducing the brain to generate new connections between various areas of itself, particularly between various areas of the cortex, and across the corpus callosum, such that the brain behaves in a more synchronised and integrated manner. This greater degree of interconnectedness leads to agreater self-awareness of thought processes that were previously entirely subconscious. Additionally, the greater synchrony between the 2 hemispheres of the brain leads to a profound increase in calmness, and greater ease with which one can enter meditative brainwave patterns, even without listening to a soundtrack at that moment).
I don't want to come off sounding like I'm a sales agent for Holosync, or that I'm 'cultish' about it, because I'm absolutely not (look how short and to the point my original remark was!). I simply know, from having been fortunate enough to use it, that it is an exceptionally useful and powerful tool that has improved my life tremendously. It's as simple as that. I don't worship it, I don't push it on others, I just acknowledge it and mention it to others if it seems they may benefit from it, too. I don't 'gain' anything from sharing that knowledge with others, any more than I gain anything from posting about anything else here on RFT (often in very detailed posts, thousands of words long). I simply like to help others, and if something has helped me, I like to share that fact with others in the hope that perhaps they, too, may experience some benefit.
Anyone can take it or leave it. Personally, I'm very very glad I took it.
All the best.

The good thing about raw is that you don't need to spend money on it to make it work for you- though goodness knows there are enough gurus out there trying to tell you otherwise! When I said meditative state I was talking very loosely of course and that you recommend it as oppose some others on RFT does make me pause for thought and I am sure I would enjoy - not necessarily the right word - using this programme but no means, either financial or electrical to try it.

Arky...thanks for the information. I googled it and checked it out. I am always trying to find time to meditate so this might be the thing for me. Since it requires headphones, do you know if the program can be copied on an MP3 player for easier listening? Or does that negate the effect?

The answer to your question is both 'Yes' and 'No'
Yes, you can rip the CDs to a portable player
No, you can't get the full benefit from mp3s
The solution?
Find a portable player which is capable of playing at least one of the following file formats:
.wav
.pcm
.aiff
Apple LOSSLESS codec
.flac
.ape
Monkey's Audio
Thankfully, over the past couple of years, many manufacturers have begun catering for lossless and uncompressed file formats, partly on account of the fact that these file formats are larger and memory card capacities are getting larger all the time, to accommodate larger files.
Examples of players which will play some of the above file formats are:
Cowon J3
Cowon D2
Apple iPod touch (probably the newer nanos, too, but you'd need to check before buying)
Apple iPod Classic
iBasso DX100
HifiMan 801
HifiMan 901
Be careful with Sony - some of them support only very limited file formats (MP3, Atrac etc., although the very latest high-end Sonys will play the LOSSLESS version of the Atrac codec, which is basically Sony's proprietary equivalent of Apple's LOSSLESS codec).
Anyway, the point is that if you do it right, yes, you can happily play Holosync on a portable player without degrading the binaural and (optional) subliminal signals. I won't bore you with the technicalities on why compressed formats degrade the signal, but there are genuine technical reasons.
If you have a particular player already, and you're not sure, just tell me the model number and I'll check for you. Any other questions, let me know.

Thanks for the information. I have an old iPod...probably close to the original. I have an iPhone4S...does that work? If I rip it with iTunes do I have to specify a different file format?

An iPhone 4s is absolutely perfect. To rip Holosync for the iPhone, you'll need to choose 'Apple Lossless' in iTunes advanced ripping preferences (for the lossless codec, the bitrate is automatic). You'll need a decent pair of earphones, too. They don't need to be expensive, they just need to have a respectable bass response, that's all.

Wow....that is very helpful. Thanks for your advise. You are very knowledgeable about so many topics!
It certainly doesn't mean I'm bright - it just means I found myself in many situations where I needed to learn, and was simply willing to do the necessary self-directed learning to overcome or adapt to them! ;-)

Food never made me spiritual but as i grow, i notice my desire to upgrade. When i feel down, i tend to go toward dense food. I know my choice of food reflect my inner state.
My ultimate favorite thing to do to feel good is prayer, simply praying for others. My second one is to connect with nature and help others.
All the best!

Hi Arky,
Is FLAC or WAV better for playback? FLAC seems to have a smaller file size.
Thanks!
