Does anyone know of any careers in raw foods in the west( Because I REALLY want to move out there). Are they hard to attain. I will soon have a bachelors degree in nutrion. I want to be able to support myself and i will have to pay off some loans, so i'm nervous I won't be able to find a job in raw foods~ which by the way lately is my only interest. (For work anyway).

Thank you :)

You can always be a nutritionist with a focus on raw foods, but many nutritionists work for hospitals or agencies where they have to give more mainstream advice and the most you could get away with is probably "eat lots of fruits and veggies" while still having to promote the food pyramid or whatever passes as mainstream "better nutririon". You can also be a raw chef if you are very good and creative at uncooking, but I wouldn't think that would pay very much at all. Or you could write your own books and get your own clients and be a consultant. I think everyone who is making a living involving raw foods has blazed their path and is self imployed.

Best of luck to you!

Dear Ashley,
I assume you're aware of Alissa's Living on Live Foods teaching opportunities listed on her website link, www.rawteacher.com ?

Thanks for that, but I figured thats what you might say. I don't want to be a nutritionist. I have seen the opportunities on Alissa's sight, and the second I get to the west coast I will become certified; however, I was just hoping that there was a better option or if I could be employed by someone like Alissa herself. If anyone else has any ideas for me ...please I really need them! :p

Hi A27,

How about a Raw Food cafe and juice bar ? I don't have one close to home and travel an hour up to Woodstock NY check out www.woodstockintheraw.com it is a small and simple place.Just a counter, a bar with stools and some outide seating.

I am unsure of her hours and menu at this time but over the summer she had wraps and lot's of Raw Desserts, and of course a great juice bar.

Just a thought, something I would love to do here in my home town.

AsHlEy27, as Crystal Rose said, check out www.rawteacher.com (http://www.rawteacher.com) for a career opportunity.

I can tell you, as I build my own career in raw foods, that you have to do just that-build it. You will need to be creative, believe completely in the benefits of raw food and what that knowledge can do for people. You will need to listen to people and what they want, and to have complete faith in the value of what you have to offer. You will also need passion. That passion is such a delight and people really respond to it, anywhere!

My very best wishes to you in all your future endeavors.

Blessings~
