Anyone go to their farmer's market right before they close and try to buy up their not-so-choice leftovers at a discount? I mean, if you're juicing or freezing/blending, doesn't matter if the the produce is bruised or irregular looking. Is this a viable way to buy fresh produce on the cheap?

That's reportedly what David Wolfe used to do - he'd go pick up the over-ripe produce from grocery stores and juice them. I've never tried this strategy, but it seem totally viable.

How's it working for you, Burritos? If it's working for you, then it is!

I have one that does but its mostly non organic produce. My favorite market has the $.49 per lb table. I usually get fruits for smoothies there. Greens are to wilty for my taste. When I did my juice fast I just asked the owners for a discount. Since I would be there everyday. They gave me 30% off.
