i'm really frustrated... one minute i totally idealize the raw thing, another minute i feel like i'm totally failing at it. like i'll do high fruit half the day thinking that's what you're supposed to do and feeling good but then i feel like i constantly have to eat and that i literally live to eat, then i'll be like oh maybe i should have more fat (and i'll truly want it) but then that'll trigger even more cravings. i know you have to figure out what works for you and there's a million and one contradictions in the nutrition world both inside and outside of raw, but it's so frustrating, especially when i planned on going raw for simplicity and to get leaner and fitter, but i feel like i'm really overplaying the "listen to your body" card.
before trying to go raw i was still vegan, but high in protein, low in carbs and basically having fat "as needed" - so lots of tofu and hemp protein, veggies, some nuts/avocadoes/coconut, so i'm not really coming from much of an SAD diet. i guess i'm just venting and looking for encouragement!

Relax and don't over think things. As long as it's raw it's good.

Are you having any greens. If not then you may be lacking in minerals and therefore craving.
Are you having enough of the other vital things
Water
Sleep
Sunshine
Exercise.

thank you both of you! i've been trying to do the "pound of greens a day" thing plus a multivit, usually sleep 8+ hours, outside a lot and when it's cloudy i take d, and exercise about an hour a day (mix of running and weights). i'm trying not to be too hard on myself it's just tough when i feel so "all over the place"

You sound like you are doing everything right so I can not think why you have these problems. Are you eating enough at your meals and getting enough calories.
Have you tried using something like www.cronometer.com for a few days to figure out if your diet is seriously lacking in something.

Have you tried eating more meals a day even if your not hungry. I find eating small meals all day keeps me energized and I don't have any cravings. I find eating raw really filling too. Are you drinking lots of water.

I also believe you are over thinking. Eating should NOT make you feel guilty or a failure. That you have to know. It takes more time for others to figure out what truly works for you.
