So I was planning on reading more of the book I bought on juicing BEFORE I started juicing, but need to speed it up and start ASAP. The reason being that my fiance feels tired ALL THE TIME, no matter how much or little sleep he gets (which could be anywhere from 5 hours to 15 hours!). He has trouble waking up, irritable, tired at work, and nothing is helping. I am the same way (except the irritably). I realize it must be our bodies telling us something needs to change. And so change, here we come.

So, here are 20 questions I haven't come across in the book (Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices) yet:

1. Tell me about juice fasting. (I want to juice fast).

2. I was going to wait 2 more weeks to juice to eat all the food in the house (I hate wasting food) and pick a juicer, but that is not likely to happen now since his mood has been so foul. (Lol). Can anyone or everyone agree on a juicer (NOT centrifugal)? Since reading the book I know the basics on juicers, but looking at juicers there are all these confusing names and such. A juicer that extracts wonderfully, is easy to clean, simple to use and around $200 would be best. :)

3. Will juicing detoxify my body? Or must I use certain recipes? Is there a certain ritual/routine/order for juicing (cleansing, detoxifying, rebuilding, maintaining), or can I just throw myself into juicing?

4. What can we expect during the first few days? I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and one of his friends said he couldn't juice and stopped after 3 days, because he got headaches, couldn't concentrate and etc. Will this happen? It will go away though, right?

5. When are fruits and vegetables in season? Even if they ARE NOT in season is it still buy and juice them? I know not of when vegetables and fruits are in season, but a friend said NOT to purchase (not-in-season) fruits and vegetables, because that is how you know they are bad/bio-engineered. Even that broccoli and peas are bio-engineered.

6. Is juicing hard?

7. When I start my juice fast, how long should I fast? I am 5'8, 170 pounds and my goal is to lose 40 pounds. I also want to make juicing my lifestyle (if that is the right term). How long can I juice? IS there a limit? (I hope not).

8. This is embarrassing even to post on here, but I think I may have a hormonal imbalance: I have horrible pms/pmdd, blood clotting when on period, a cyst, and odd hair growth (upper lip, face, etc). Both my mother and my aunt have 5 'o clock shadows from shaving their faces and I honestly don't want that, but have found tweezing is impossible on my upper lip. It really brings my self esteem down. What can I do?

9. A little about me and my health: I DO NOT have health insurance, thus I cannot go to the doctor before I start and I do not even have the money to go to cheaper places. So I will be going into this blind, but knowing there is something wrong with my body: I have had a sinus infection for 5 MONTHS :'(, a cyst (vagina), fungal infection of the toes, and these weird dots (somewhere around 100 of them) popping up all over my body and I have no idea what they are. They are pinkish, brownish and are not even the size of a pencil eraser (on a pencil). They do not itch and they do not hurt. Any advice?? :/ Any juices that can help?

10. I heard (from the friend that juices) that he has so much energy from juicing. True?

11. True or false: juicing cures cancer. I have been reading about how people started juicing (as well as taking vitamin supplements) and cured themselves of cancer. Even the book has said so. What is everyone's take on that?

12. Smoking? Does it help you quit? How is smoking while juicing? Weed? Cigarettes?

13. I also recently read an article on juicing weed.. Opinions? Does anyone on here do it? After all, weed is a vegetable.

14. What juices are good for anxiety, depression, panic attacks and fatigue?

15. What are juices that are good for mental health?

16. Do you still get cravings (i.e. chocolate)?

17. How much is it likely/going to cost a month? For 2 people?

18. Out of the two of us, would it be better for me to juice more than him (he is way healthier compared to me)?

19. Can you juice any vegetables or fruits together (regardless of taste)?

20. Measurements? I think measurements are going to be the most difficult for me, honestly.

21. How has juicing changed you? How has it benefited you? (This may sound like a dumb question, but will your personality change drastically?)

22. Do I NEED to plan out everything and know everything about juicing, or can I just DO IT? (Lol). My friend and his mother started juicing after they watched the movie (Fat, Sick and Nearly Dying) and they use the same recipe that was used on the movie (lunch and dinner), as well as eating a salad with shrimp for dinner. Is that okay?

23. I have a curvy figure (even when I didn't weigh so much), will juicing take this away from me (cup size, butt)?

24. What are vegetables and fruits that are good to juice for eczema, sensitive skin, milia (around the eyes) and acne (fiance has really bad acne all over his back)? Here is a link, if you don't know what milia is: http://www.skinsight.com/adult/milia.htm They are on the insides of my eyes (next to my nose).

25. Does juicing get rid of pesky fine lines (under the eyes)?

26. Any juicing cures or help for OCD, or stress helpers?

27. Any routine or changing in juicing I should be aware of (i.e. using certain vegetables, fruits for a certain time, then switching to others)?

28. Is there anyone who would be willing to be my mentor?

I know some of these questions may seem silly and self explanatory, but I was taught (in school) that if you don't know something, no matter how dumb you think the question may be, ask it anyway!

Thank you for reading and replying in advance.

I can't answer most of your questions and a lot of the answers to many are going to "it depends".

What is seasonal will depend on where you live. Check out a farmers market and see what is for sale.
Non-seasonal does not have to be bad/GMO. It will be older, have been picked when less ripe (in the case of fruits) and have used a lot of fuel being transported about the globe. Local, seasonal is best so check out local small markets, farms, cooperatives and shops.

Google is invaluable when embarking on RAW and also the banana search up-top is very helpful.

Raw (not specifically juicing) is brilliant for sorting out menstrual cycle.

6. Is juicing hard? There is effort involved. How much depends how much you juice, what juicer you choose and whether you grow, forage or buy the stuff.

I don't have time to answer all your questions and, as MT says, a lot depends on you. If you go to the juicing section on this forum, many of your questions will be answered. I don't know what book you got on juicing yet, I recommend Norman W. Walker's book. If you do a search here (in the juicing section) there's lots of information on the type of juicer to get. My suggestion ~ just begin.

I don't think anyone can tell you what is right for you. I chop up the veggies with a food processor and use a homemade juice press

This is a vegan raw food forum. Talking about eating animal products is not permitted here, and you won't find any support for it here. In the interest of full disclosure I will tell you that I am not a vegan either, but I don't make any mention, on this forum, of things I eat that are not approved of. It is a matter of knowing the house rules.

Losing fat will reduce your curves some. Perhaps a lot, but a flatter tummy will help show your curves off more. Your mileage may vary.

28. Is there anyone who would be willing to be my mentor?
You will find that, if you ask your questions one or two at a time, and do a little research on your own the community of this forum will be happy to mentor you in very meaningful ways. Good luck to you.

Yes juicing will help detoxify you. Once most of the toxins are out your mood should stabalize.
Shop around for the cheapest Naturally grown produce. Farmers market, co-ops, etc.
You should loose weight on juicing.
Google detox from juicing. YOu might get some but drink more juice it should help with the symptoms.
Read the fasting threads I think you will find most of your answers there.
Try the green juice recipe from the movie.
Try different recipes only do the ones you like.
A month for 2 people. I guess it depends on where you live and where you get your produce. I can get Naturally grown Kale for $59 a bunch and celery for 2 for $1.00 at my farmers market. That is a base for most of my green juice.
Look on craigslist for a juicer. I saw and OMEGA for $100 this week in south florida.
Yes your skin will improve but not overnight. 30 days you should see a great difference. Look at the before and after pictures you will see THE Raw Glow.
Yes you will see more energy. Devote 2 weeks and your life will turn around.
