So sorry that I'm so ignorant, but what is a nut milk bag? Wow I guess I'm really
a serious newbie!

you can use a paint strainer bag from Lowes or Home Depot) any hardware store actually. The mesh is not quite as fine as a regular nut milk bag, but they work just fine.

I have not tried this yet but did hear that you can go to the fabric store and get some material that is like the kind that lines a wedding dress. I forget the name. Should be a quick and cheap fix.

Thanks guys for your responses. Now I know what a nut milk bag is! My gosh.....how long
does it take to get used to eating and working in the kitchen this way? Feels like I never
will. Ouch! That sounded so negative! Note to self...quitting is not an option!

Pool vacuum bags (found in home centers and pool sections of discount stores) also make a good nut milk bag. I think they may be finer mesh than a paint strainer.
