I've fallen off the wagon  I need some guidance. I can't stop eating junk food. Now I'm really tired and always in a bad mood. I live in Plattsburgh, NY and I can't find a raw buddy. I want to drop out of school and move to Seattle, WA or California to be closer to people who at least have the same interest. What do I do.

The first thing that you must realise is that the problem is not with school or the area that you live in. You will not feel any better if you move. You have to solve your problems first.
You could try the 30 day challange at this stage. You have to realise that you alone are responsible for what you eat. Rawpreistess posted a message yesterday on another tread about always finding an excuse to not do what we do not want to do in the first place.
I suggest that you treat this as a competition between you and the junk food. The junk food (and the junk food industry) is out there determined to win and get you to eat it but you know that you are better than the junk food and you are not going to give in. Every time that you give in the junk food has won so that is not going to happen. You are strong. You will not be beaten.

sport gave you some fabulous advice.
Do you have Alissa's book? If so, reread the part about the mind, and about how to get back on track.
If you dont have it, you will want to get it.
You need to inspire yourself at this point. Act as though this is the very first time you tried raw and you have full faith an excitement for what it will do for you.
Take advantage of online community. And maybe you can find like minded people through your local co-op.
North Country Co-op - 25 Bridge St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901. 518-561-5904.
Put a flyer up there or start a potluck. Ask the employees!
My best wishes to you on your raw journey. You can do it. :)

I'm having the same problem with staying Raw, I am from The Buffalo area (North) of Buffalo,NY, and I think everyday about moving to WA State, (been there, and have a wonderful man there that would love me to come back.. ;) ) because I feel there are more Rawfoodist there and much more selection for organic produce..etc.
I wonder how far Plattsburg is from me? I also can't find a raw buddy, I have a Vegan son, and a Vegetarian son. it helps, but they love to cook their food to death. :(
I haven't started the 30 day challenge yet, but I'm thinking I will soon, I'm due to go grocery shopping this weekend, I think I'm going to chose the foods to start the challenge!

I am so glad I have found this community. I really appreciate the support. I just ordered Alissa's book and DVD. I know I need some inspiration at this point. I am trying to be a rawfoodist in a college community, which is extremly difficult. But your right I make my own choices. I am the nutrition intern here at Plattsburgh State and now I am having a hard time advising students how to eat because I want them to experience the benefits of being raw. I try and work with the company that puts out our college food, and they really don't understand. I'm having a lot of trouble finding support here. :( My advisor even told me that this idea was crazy and i might die!!! I can't believe she's a professor in nutrition. Also, if i did plan to move to be closer to more fellow raw foodist, where exactly on the west coast are the majority??? Thanks for all of your help :D

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh a little. You are going to die from eating raw...and not from eating junk food that has no nutritional value and that the body doesn't even know what to do with? Wow.
You got some good advice. Just take this slowly. Throw out the candy, and go buy some dates, bananas, or other sweet treat. Enjoy the healthy sweet treats. I think Alissa's book is great but I would also advice that you read other raw books. It makes me feel secure that so many authors/nutritionists are advocating raw food when I read and re-read these books. I go to the library to get them.
Good luck.

It's all in the mind.
If you can realize that your mind controls everything, then you can take control of your mind and it has to obey. How to do this varies with each individual. With me, It's all a game. And, I always win. :) I say I always win, so I do.
First, the mind has to understand that there is no going back to the SAD diet, and that's all there is to it. I figure eating raw food puts me in a different realm, so to speak, and by telling my mind that it would be all it's fault if I went into the cooked food realm and that it would have to figure out how to get me back into the raw realm again, my mind says, " O.K. We will stay here in the raw". It just doesn't want to tackle that one at ALL!
One has to be ready for the raw food adventure as it is an entirely different species (for lack of a better word, LOL . you all know what I mean) and you have to be ready spiritually as well. It's kinda hard to explain.
As for craving the junk food is concerned, I can tell you this.. If anyone had a junk food habit, it was me. Notwithstanding, I conqured that by the above technique. Substitutiing dates and fruits for the sweet tooth and avacoados and nuts for the carbs, I would just find recipies that encorporated these ingredients or simply ate them alone when the cravings hit.
Nobody can tell you that you can do this. YOU have to tell yourself that you can do it, otherwise it just won't work. You have to be the motivating factor ultimately. Others can encourage and provide support, but in the end, it's mind over matter. YOUR mind!
Much luck to you! :)

That was very well said! I will remember those words... I win :D
