Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and have been juicing for 13 days. I started juicing because I was injured on the job and am in my second month off work. I wanted to
do something healthy during this time rather than sitting in front of a tv and stuffing my face with junk food. The benefits I am experiencing is a 11 lb weight loss, which I have noticed is helping with my pain and mood. 11 lbs of weight off my spine has got to be helping it!

I havent been consuming juice 100 percent of the time. At night I've gotten really hungry and simply missed chewing! So I've shredded cabbage and added grapes to it to ward off hunger pains instead of pulling out the juicer and having a huge clean up before bed. Is this considered "kosher"? Like I said, the weight is still coming off and all the food I
have consumed is raw. Would this be considered cheating?

Thanks in advance for advise, ya'll! I have oodles of questions for experts here!

D.D.

hey D.D! Definitely a great thing ( but tempting x_x) to hear that the raw solids aren't affecting your weight loss part of the detox.. :) &
great job on the 11lb weight loss! and i'm proud for you whether or not you "cheated" :) it's for sure damn hard..and its great you were able to last through most of the day, which for me feels like the worst lol. ime, whenever i get hungry at night, simply sleeping would do the trick ;).

im on day 6 of a 30 day fast as well~! ^.^ about the whole "cheating" thing, I would say however you feel afterwards? physically/mentally. For myself, I'd feel like I'm cheating if I did let myself eat solids/raw...but thats only because from my own research, a juice fast/cleanse always came up as strictly juicing fruits/vegis but the other part of the reason why I try to fight my cravings is because I want to build mental strength to accomplish set goals (something I havn't been so successful at sadly :P ). but if your body is feeling fine after eating raw and you feel accomplished/ not guilty against whatever your goals were, then I think your on the right track :) hope this helped in some way .. & i wish you the best for your cleanse & hope your injury heals well through all this juice goodness :)

to me fastings like marathon running = you just cant go out one day and run as far as can and youve attained conditioning goals

with fasting one fast isnt going to be a great plus unless you could go like 50 days water or so = nearly impossible

its going to take developing a fasting habit , years of fasting in order to gain a very tight grip on food cravings while also washing out pollution and cell damage

thusly when i cant attain hoped for distances on fasts and have to cheat a little bit to keep in the mode of not eating solids im totally good with it

and the chewing action without consuming whatever chewed helps quell hunger . like i put orange wedges in mouth and lightly chew / suck on them then eject when empty . chewing on blue bic pen caps helps too ;-) and many chew on ice cubes they make out of juice

:meditating: 2012 THE YEAR OF THE FAST :meditating:

THERE NEEDS TO BE A FLAVORLESS real chewy chewing gum to chew on for fasting so you can chew all day without eating

you can also grow wheat outdoors and grab a wad of wheat grass and chew on it for a long time then eject . i do so all the time on fasts as wheat grass forms a tough to break down blob you can chew on long time

caps by accident
