My husband is on Day 24 of a juice fast. He is 35 years old and not overweight at all. He started the fast because of some health issues that have been unresolved. Some of his biggest frustrations include extreme fatigue and short term memory issues. He has been juicing 98% veggies, though for the first week or so, he did add a lemon to his daily mix. This mix includes: spinach, carrot, celery, beet, and bell pepper daily, but he has also had kale, parsley, and cucumber. His problem is that he has seen NO improvement after almost a month of fasting. I am wondering if any of the rest of you have had healing occur after the 30 day mark? Any suggestions?

about the extreme fatigue and memory lost, i recently read that EPA and DHA from flax oil will help with mental issues, as well as increasing energy. but the conversion from ALA to EPA and DHA only happens when the body is properly nutritioned, meaning being raw.

you could also go to this site: dherbs.com, they have the best herbal combinations, and they address many issues.

good luck!

Has he had a full blood workup done? It would be best to see where any deficiencies are before assuming he just needs to detox.

The brain does need fat, so by taking out all fat he could be making his issues worse. It is my understanding that the purpose of juicing (and denying yourself fat and fiber) is to give the liver a break/rest.

Who suggested a juice fast for his particular health concerns?

This has been a battle over a number of years. He has had every test imaginable from both conventional and naturopathic doctors, including full blood work ups (heavy metals, lyme disease, etc) numerous times and 3 MRIs. He was even treated for lyme disease for about a year even though the test came back negative. All bloodwork shows 'normal' but that is far from how he feels. The only deficiencies that have ever shown up were D and B which he had corrected by subsequent bloodwork. He has taken every supplement that he has come across as maybe helpful in the extensive research he has put into figuring out the problem.. He has consumed quite a bit of EPA/DHA. He actually has some unpleasant reactions to fats (they seem to make his problems worse). The juicing, he feels, is a kind of 'last ditch' effort at seeing some relief. So, no one 'suggested' the juice fast. It just seemed logical for him to try it, since no other dietary changes were helping. I guess I should have made those things a little more clear in my first post. Sorry!
So, that is why I am hopeful for his sake that someone out there has gone on an extended juice fast, but had delayed results. It's discouraging for him to continue when it seems most people have seen improvements by this stage. Thanks for you time.

I would recommend that you consult with dr Morse. If you go on his website, you can find a link where he made herbs that help with many function of the body. Read the ingredient and try to use these herbs that you can get locally or fresh in your smoothie or juice. You don't have to have all the combination at once. He is a chemist and he came up with a formula that would work the most on specific organ. You can also buy his herbs.

It is normal what your husband is going through. He is most likely have low kidney and the lymphatic fluid isn't moving. Parsley is a great move.

If i was him, i would consume mainly fruits such berries (blueberries are in season), grape, water melon and citrus. If he does a lemon water every day, it will help to flush his liver.

Your husband has a lot of acid build up and it takes times if your kidney are weak to flush. He is on the right path and shouldn't give up. I would do the green juice more at night and do fruits. Semi acid fruits are very cleansing and healing.

He will get there, keep the faith.

p.s Healing crisis are the same symptom as the decease except the body is healing. I am not a doctor, please research

That is interesting about the fruits. He had been avoiding them because of their sugar content. It would be an appealing change in diet to include more, I'm sure. We will look in to Dr. Morse's site and info. He definitely has weak kidneys. Thank you!

It is a sad and often a tragic mistake that people have about fruits. Every single cell of your body needs sugar. Fruits are a simple sugar and the fructose is converted into glucose by your liver. They have a very high magnetic energy. The cell of our body needs this energy also to thrive. It is always best to have them ripe and fresh but in this world, we have to do what we can. Apple are cleansing too.

Dr. Morse has treated patient with diabetic I and II with fruits (semi acid) and herbs, so this tells you a lot about fruits. Some people, cannot do fruits just yet only because their body is too imbalance but their body will change and they will manage.

All the best and again, don't lose hope because our body is amazing and if you give it what it needs, it will restore to balance and rejuvenation.
