Raw Peanuts?

I met someone this afternoon that works on a raw food truck in a near by town. I asked what kind of items are on the menu and he said one of the more popular items has a Peanut dipping sauce. I thought raw peanuts were bad for you and he said these were pasturized but not cooked. Has anyone else heard of this?

If pasteurize, this isn't raw anymore.

I buy raw peanut at the Asian market when in season. They come in a net bag. They taste like soak almond. They are very moist and watery. My family love them. I don't seem to have any reaction from them either. I usually has rash or pimple on my face when i do nuts that isn't raw.
