years ago i put my hands into a sink full of sudsy dish soap water with glass drinking glasses needing to be washed . unbeknownst to me somebody had dropped a glass in the water which when hitting another glass in sink got cracked . so the last knuckle joint on back of one of my fingers went right into the broken glass - sliced heck out of it to the point that last section of finger wont straighten back out . and dr said surgery wouldnt help . so point is ever since then i avoided glass when possible and have opted for stainless steel or ceramic drinking vessels . even plastic over glass as i dont want the hassle of worrying about breaking glass . so its came to be that my fave drinking glasses are large stainless steel types such as this : http://www.amazon.com/Milkshake-Blender-Cocktail-Stainless-Commercial/dp/B000KDWG7W/ref=pd_sim_k_7

Hands down, this is mine. Unfortunately I cannot find these any longer except at thrift stores. I have 2. I can find them in pint sizes, but not quart (wide mouth) - whaaa!

Once in a while I get to use one like that. When Lisa doesn't have it. LOL. We are down to one now. Egg Harbour Restaurant here uses those for their drinking glasses.

I love the Mason jar now. I have the little one like DebB and i love them.

Here is what i use also at home (Rainforest cafe glass). I love them because they can contain a huge amount of liquid, but it is fragile:

Hi streetsurfer ~ Do they use the 1 quart, wide-mouth size? If so, I will call them and see where they get them! Thanks in advance for any info. Sheesh - I remember when you could buy a case of 12 of these @ Walmart for cheap. I wonder why the quart size aren't made any longer...

I've just seen the 16 oz. I'm sorry, I didn't catch that yours in the picture were 32. oz.

I've been looking all over for the 32 oz jar mugs as well. I did find a 54 oz glass mug (it's for beer, what a surprise LOL) at Classic Hostess (http://www.classichostess.com/brewingpilsnermug.aspx). Not sure I want one quite that large though. I use a stainless steel bottle for water but I'd still like something clear for smoothies.

Not a problem streetsurfer! Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!

SunshineMN - our quest continues! I found some smaller (maybe 24 ounce) glass beer mugs with handle at the Dollar Store. They're nice, but pretty heavy and ofcourse smaller.. I would probably need double handles like a sippy cup if it was much heavier - haha

I like this glass with the carrot juice, small base for smaller arthritic hands. When my gluten problems cropped up I dropped a lot of stuff - large diameter glasses werent my favorite.

They both fit neatly under the juicer spout

Yes, I was thinking that too Deb. The 54 oz one would be too heavy when full for my wimpy strength. LOL Ah well, I'll probably just use a qt jar for the time being when we get around to smoothies. We tried one once, yuck. When fruit is more in season I'll probably try again with fruit and baby spinach.

This is exactly what I'm using now. I've dropped many times in the sink with no damage.

Hi streetsurfer ~ Are you using PhotoBucket? I'd like to actually post mine larger. I'm not real computer savy....

Yes deb, I usually host at photobucket. Those were taken from my eye-phone [;)] and it gives you the choice to email to photobucket at small, med, large or original size. I chose large thinking it was smaller than it was originally taken at. I usually keep my other camera at 640 by 480, but the phone camera measures it by mb's I think. I'm lost when it comes to corellating mp's and mb's. (pixels vx bites-what does it all mean)

Thanks streetsurfer ~ I think I need to play around at Photobucket more and learn my way around it so that I can post larger pics. Those cell phones amaze me!
