That's a great price from Amazon. I get mine from Azure Standard, $22.75 for 5 lbs. of black organic chia seeds. No free shipping but if you're close to one of their routes shipping can be free or quite cheap if you have them shipped on their truck.
Have you ever checked them out walnutty? They do have a route in AZ.

Yes, I have. They don't have a drop anywhere near me.

That's too bad walnutty. I feel lucky to have a drop less than 5 miles from me. Their seeds and nuts are cheaper than most, especially with their delivery trucks.
I enjoy the seeds in cold herbal tea. I put about half an ounce in a glass with about 1-1 1/2 cups of tea. I usually drink it very slowly and actually chew some of the seeds, as well as you can such tiny seeds anyhow. I really needed to get some omega-3 into my diet and I've found this is the easiest for now. Next month I plan on getting 5 lbs of flax seed though to grind and toss on salads.
Luv, have you tried chia pudding yet? I've been too lazy but I now have the ingredients to make chocolate chia pudding. You may want to give it a try!

You can make it with any kind of nut milk, chia seeds, raw cacao powder and some kind of sweetener. I plan on using soaked dates. Some use maple syrup or agave syrup, neither of which are raw. You could use stevia as well if you like that.
Maybe you have a bad batch of chia seeds? We have ours in the freezer so the oils won't get rancid in the heat.

It's interesting because I don't really taste anything with the chia. It seems to be very neutral. I make a chia pudding with water, Xagave (raw, organic agave nectar) and vanilla. It's yummy, filling and filled with EFA's!

Nutiva has really amazing deals directly on their website. They do this 'Crazy Deal Tuesday' thing - I've gotten great prices and free shipping on chia, hemp and coconut. I'm loving eating my way through 5lb of hemp seed. Yum!

The price of chia seeds on Azure Standard has doubled in the last couple days as I was getting ready to order. I'm a bit disappointed as I was going to get 5 lbs. I have no idea why. I may have to grab some off Amazon before the price goes up there.

We have them at Costco here for $10 per 900 g bag of organic chia. It's probably the best price I've seen for chia seeds, organic or not!
