View Full Version : I'm taking Alissa's certification in October!
04-29-2012, 01:31 PM
I am finally doing it. It's been a dream and now... the dream is becoming a reality. I'm going to be taking my certification with Alissa in October.
Wanna join me? I know there are some spots left in the Sept class as well.
I love that part of the classes (other than the certification of level 1, 2 AND 3) is the http://www.rawteacher.com/a-weekend-to-awaken-true-health/ <-- Weekend Class.
We learn about fasting, cleansing etc. I'm really looking forward to that. Alissa and I have talked about fasting in the past but this will be an amazing experience to learn from both her and Stacie.
*dancing, twirling in an excited bliss*

Congrats.... You will have a blast!! I so wish I could go, but its not the time for me yet :) I know you'll learn a ton and be that much more informed for the rest of us :)
04-29-2012, 03:36 PM
...and my family and my clients !!!
I'm doing this for all of them... but mostly for me. I've wanted to learn from Alissa because I resonate most strongly with her. I like her "relax and eat" attitude. I love that she doesn't put in a lot of rules and should have's.
I'm soooo excited!!!

I think there are still a couple of spots available for this class... anyone from here going to join me on this journey?
10-15-2012, 12:11 AM
Okay so it finally dawned on me. Like really dawned on me. I leave for Boston in three days. HOLY CRAP. It's time to actually think about what it is I need to pack with me.
So tonight I bought some raw (soaked) nut mixes from Whole Foods for the flights since I am not eating that horrid airplane food. I got my highlighters and multi-coloured pens together. Got my notebook ready to take notes. Grabbed two puzzle books, all my BodyTalk books to study on the plane.
Now to think about clothes...
10-16-2012, 07:00 PM
Packed and ready to leave in the AM for Seattle.
Have a great time while I'm gone and expect a disgusting amount of photos when I return!

Enjoy yourself...and as for the photos, bring 'em on. I enjoy seeing others great food photos!
10-17-2012, 09:35 AM
Thanks! I'm a little nervous about getting myself from the plane, on to the shuttle bus, on to the "T" and then to the train. But I'm sure it'll be much easier once than I'm there than it seems on paper. LOL
Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Okay I'll give you a quickie since I just haven't had the time to write anything yet.
I arrived late Thursday evening and was refreshed and ready to go for Friday's start time of 2pm. It was great. As soon as people were in the same room with each other they started sharing. Where they were from, what brought them there etc. It was like we all knew how close we were going to become over the weekend and so we just got started right away!
Friday was all about level one certification. Alissa taught the "class" so we'd all experience it and would take little moments here and there to explain the teaching end of things. By the end of the evening we could barely walk we were sooooooo full.
Sat began early (9) and it was much different. The morning was spent sharing. We all took turns talking about anything that was on our mind - Alissa was getting us into the best possible space for learning - so she wanted us to release whatever was occupying our minds. There was really deep sharing - tears and lots of support given. Then after lunch we started with level 2 - lots of sprouting, dehydrating and creating more complex gourmet foods.
WE LEARNED HOW TO MAKE GREZZO CHEESE! And it isn't hard at all! I'm making some next week. Super super excited to have that in the house for now on. (It freezes really well so make a few batches at the same time).
We went to bed overstuffed AGAIN.
Sunday morning we started off by sharing again. This time it took less time but it was still a long process with 24 students in the class. We learned about fasting, cleansing, supplements, skin brushing, neti pots - and how to teach the classes in a deeper way.
Then we had our celebration dinner with Alissa's Calzone. OH MY YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS! It was truly amazing.
I have a million pictures which I will share later. I've been crazy busy this week but things need to slow down soon LOL I promise to share pics with you all.
Alissa is lovely. Stacie is so grounded and cool - covered in tattoos (yup, just like me). Alissa told me she figured we'd get along great and we did. LOVED Stacie's yoga moments throughout the weekend. (stretching is gooooooood when you've been sitting for what seems like forever!)
All the staff (chefs) in the kitchen were amazing people.
And my classmates were beyond wonderful. I love each of them - they were such a gift! Each bringing their own flavour into the weekend.
Of course, my fav was my "buddy" (we are buddied up for the weekend) - I'll never forget the gift she gave me at lunch on Saturday. "A listening ear". Just what I needed and honestly it made my weekend so much better because of the time she gifted me. (((hugs)))
If you are interested in growing spiritually, finding a deeper part of yourself and perhaps learning a thing or two about raw foods... take Alissa's certification. It's so much more than raw foods... so much more.
10-26-2012, 12:28 PM
I wish we could persuade Alissa to come to the UK! Sounds as though you had a wonderful time.
10-26-2012, 02:17 PM
WOW!!!! Boy, this SURE brings back memories for me!!!!!! Sounds like you had a FANTASTIC time...learning and sharing!!!!
Alissa's got MANY layers, huh! She really gives her heart to you! :throwhearts:
I'm SO glad you got to experience this Aleesha! I really am!!! It's mind blowing how something as simple as food can affect every aspect of your life the way that it does!
10-27-2012, 10:33 AM
Mystic, we had a student in the class from England. She and I travelled the furthest to the class.
The class is more about connecting with your Self and is a deep process - AND - you learn how to make some great food at the same time LOL It's just soooooo not only about food.
10-27-2012, 10:39 AM
I would have to combine it with so much other stuff if I travelled to the States. The carbon footprint of the flights alone would be difficult for me to deal with.
10-27-2012, 10:48 AM
That's what happened with Ann. Her son moved to Boston 6 months before the class. She was THRILLED!
So yeah, I hear ya.
10-29-2012, 06:39 PM
Hey Aleesha...did Alissa make her Land and Sea from RFFE?
10-29-2012, 07:30 PM
I don't think so... what is the land and sea? I do remember hearing that... so perhaps she did. Sorry... water fasting brain here LOL
10-29-2012, 07:43 PM
Land and Sea from RFFE:
Yea, go ahead.....
10-29-2012, 07:54 PM
It looks stunning. Is it meant to reference"surf 'n' turf" from regular menus? It looks better than the tough steak and chewy prawns we get under that heading btw.
10-29-2012, 08:17 PM
oh wow... no she didn't. but i'm soooo gonna make that when i'm done fasting!
10-30-2012, 01:04 PM
A few pics...
Alissa making oatmeal for us all for breakfast. Isn't she just gorgeous! She doesn't use shampoo on her hair (I asked her) and she's just so vibrant! How can you possibly think that you can't be raw long term when you look at her? She's been raw over 25 years now!!!
10-30-2012, 01:05 PM
here's the beautiful calzone... mmmm it was sooooo good. I was so surprised cause my body doesn't like really heavy food but it looooved this calzone.
10-30-2012, 01:07 PM
this is our celebration dinner on Sunday night. See the gorgeous calzone!
10-30-2012, 01:09 PM
and the bagel!!! i am in love with the bagel! i'm making some of these today... can't wait!
01-08-2013, 12:57 PM
here's a review by someone who took the class the month before me:
01-08-2013, 01:10 PM
Gr8 testimony!!! She really summarized the Class well! I still honestly feel the same way! It was an incredible experience in my life. It TOTALLY and COMPLETELY changed my career!!! She's still one of my favorite people on the planet!
The only thing I miss about my former job as a flight attendant is that I can't jump on a plane and go see her whenever I want. She had another book signing recently and I wish I could have been there! She knows that, though.
BTW, FANTASTIC pictures Aleesha!!!! How did I miss them?
01-08-2013, 01:33 PM
i have no idea. i figure pics have a way of finding YOU though...
01-08-2013, 02:04 PM
