Robert Morse says lymph drains into the kidneys for detoxification.

How does lymph get to the kidneys if it doesn't go through the subclavian vein? Most AP books say lymph drains at subclavian veins, but I can't find any source that says how it would get to the kidneys for it to filter.

The lymph fluid, after being brought upward through the body and filtered by the nodes along the way, is drained from the head and neck through the lymphatic ducts INTO the subclavain vein where it becomes part of your plasma and heads to the kidneys for blood filtering.

Maybe you misunderstood the drain part. It is draining into the vein not out of it. Passing from one system to the other, out of lymphatic, into circulatory.
