I **love** making my own cleaning products too Aleesha! I just now came up after using a product I just made earlier today as a laundry stain remover. But, I tried it on carpet stains (well, not stains so much as little dirt spots) and it removed them like a charm. I found it on Pinterest ~
1 part original Dawn dish soap (the blue color)
2 parts hydrogen peroxide
Mix these together and pour or spray directly on stain.
I haven't used it on laundry stains yet, but it said it will get them out, even old ones. Sure worked great on my carpet. Ofcourse you'd want to test it on an out of the way spot first.

Since we talk about it... Can anybody recommend me how to get rid of water/calcium residue on the walls in the shower? I used to use squeegee but after it broke I do not use anything for about a week now and my shower walls and doors and everything there is just disgusting, tried shower cleaner to no avail.

I failed to copy down the exact ingredients, as I made it up right away - but I Googled Dawn Dish detergent / shower cleaner and I'm pretty sure this is what I made up. Now, I haven't used it on residue, but you can read and see if this might work for you:

Thanks for posting this thread, its very important to help everyone realize that cleaners that you make at home work "better" then store bought ones.
I have a cleaning company for the last 8years at which I have told all my clients that I will only use my own products, they typically agree and always allow it the first couple times. Every time I receive the same reaction "wow, what did you use! Its never looked or felt this clean" Please keep this going and at least try it a couple times and you will see a huge difference. Vinegar is my best freind and I use it everywhere! I just use different quantities when dilluting depending on the house that is being cleaned.
....Vinegar is an excellent "fabric softener" as it also says in the link that you have provided. Its also sooo much better for your skin that you dont have those toxins from fabric softeners rubbing against your skin for 12hrs. I also add drops of camomile or lavendar to the rinse cycle for a fresh smell :)
