I am doing some research on Adrenal Fatigue. I am not supposed to have any sugar or fruits. So for the next month or so I will detox with green juices, veggies, and seeds. Any suggestions. I am using an herbal formula to help with this. I had no idea. I love fruit/honey anything sweet. It all makes sense. Anxiety, depression, low BP. I am hoping to regulate myself and go of medication for good. Has anyone had this and how did you treat it?. I need meal ideas. I get bored with salads...

Hi Tracy! Avoiding fruit and loading up on protien is the biggest misconception out there regarding healing the adrenal glands. I have been experiencing severe adrenal fatigue going on over 2 years. I had seen regular doctors as well as holistic doctors, even bought the book "Adrenal Fatigue The 21st Century Stress Syndrome" which is such a flawed book yet is suppose to be the "best" book for adrenal fatigue.
If your adrenal glands are not working properly, your kidneys are not either and the most important step to take is being on a detox program, and the best detoxifying foods for the body are fruits. Veggies are for healing and rebuilding, but that will be difficult to take place when the kidneys and adrenals need detoxing first. I have blood sugar issues and have been on a very high fruit diet going on 5 months. I also eat veggies - no nuts and barely any seeds as I am detoxing. I have been feeling so much better than before, even with the detox symptoms here and there!!! I have been seeing Dr. Robert Morse btw - one of the best healers of our time. I highly suggest booking a consultation with him and if you can't afford it then look him up on Youtube as he has a host of very educational videos of adrenal fatigue and other health issues. Also, get his book "The Detox Miracle Sourcebook" - goes into detail how the body works, the adrenal glands, the misconception of fruits and the crucial importance of them.
Healing to you!

Wow. I got his book that is how I figured it out. I also got the adrenal formul and started it today. This is new for me so I am trying to gather as much info as possible. What are the best things to detox your adrenal system. I have low blood pressure/depression/anxiety. etc. I crave salt and sugar constantly. Thanks for the info I will check him out on Utube. I am in florida and hope to have a consult from him by the end of summer.

Forgot to mention, I am taking herbal formulas as well, which are really helping. If I get bored of salads I make soups, eat cucumber or turnips with dips, make puddings or ice cream, juice or make smoothies a lot, drink a lot of coconut water straight out of the young coconuts which are so good for the adrenal glands, and the options go on. There are some wonderful recepies all over this board. Also look up Dara Dubinet on Youtube. Her videos are inspiring and delicious!

Totally resonate on getting your kidney/adrenal to function and tissue rejuvenation.
Herbs and semi acid fruits together are amazing.
Doing a detox is great that you do it with fruits or not because it gives a brake to your digestion system but don't do fat during that time. If you do decide to add fruits it would be a bonus because fruits will go deeper. Fat over taxes your kidney and you need them to eliminate the toxin or acidosis.
This summer, i am aiming for dandelion, plantain (wild herb) and fruits.
All the best!

You are welcome! : ) Did you get Dr. Morses' book - "The Detox Miracle Sourcebook" or the other book? If it's "Adrenal Fatigue 21st..." then I would disregard most of what is written in there as it's inaccurate. I have all the symptoms as you do and fruit has only helped me in getting better. Educate yourself on why this is so important by watching Dr. Morses' videos, then load up on tons of fruit. I would juice green juices a lot and make smoothies as well.

Raw Angel Mom, herbs and fruits are fantastic!!! An avocado a day or maybe a little bit of coconut fat is fine, although eating more than that does slow down the detox.

Yes I got Dr. Morse book. I love coconut water. I still need a little help with this. Sub acid grapes, apples, and pears. Isaw a grape juice and grape detox was recommended. I am not sure I can do a full day of grapes and grape juice but now I have the motivation I will give it a try. I can do apple parsley juice yummy. I do love green juice. I thought about getting the whole detox kit but I don't think I am ready for that yet. I have no time to rest.

I've been experiencing blood sugar/low blood pressure issues. He didn't recommand I do a grape fast, or any fast, but to add a lot of grapes to my diet. He told me to eats tons of fruit all day, have a salad/ raw soup at night. He said I could also have a steamed sweet potatoes or steamed veggies every now and then in the evenings, but mentioned he would like me to have fruits all day and night during the summer time if I can. Watermelons or any melons and berries, especially blueberries are very good for detoxing and healing the kidneys and adrenal glands. Carrots, beats, celery, parsley, cilantro - are great juices for healing the glands.
And I totallly understand in needed a break to fully detox. I would get the adrenal and kidney formula for sure though and the lymph to go along with it as it's very important as well. Your lymph is clearly stagnant and not moving.

I just ordered the kidney and stomach formula along with the detox tea. The adrenal gland does give me a considerable boost. My BP this morning was 90/57. 1 hour after taking it it was 107/65. Not a big hike in BP but enough to get through the morning. I will keep you posted on my progress. I will eventurally do the whole kit but kinda pricey right now for me.

I JUST looked up Chronic Fatigue Sydrome Friday at work because I was so exhausted (as I have been for years!) I found some information about CFS being a symptom of Adrenal Fatigue. So I looked up Adrenal Fatigue and I was absolutely in a daze as I sat at my computer looking at the symptoms! I almost have every single sympton on the list!! I was sooo pleased to finally have a name for how I feel! I have gone to my handful of doctors several times over the past several years and I was constantly told I was fine and it was just stress. Always told to just relax or exercise and I would feel better. I tried everything I was told and after all these years STILL feel as crappy as I did long long ago when I started questioning the doctors! No wonder!
I was pleased to see this post when I logged in today! I am definitely going to get those books and look up the YouTube videos! Thank you all so much for posting this!

snapdragon, there are a lot of misconceptions out there about healing adrenal fatigue. Make an appointment with Dr. Robert Morse ND. He is a natrapath (sp?) bio-chemist and master herbalist of over 40 years. He knows what he's talking about and the appointment is not expensive. If you still can't do so, create a Youtube account and comment on his videos what ever it is you have a question about. He answers it in his videos almost all of the time!
I don't have any experience on the topic but I have recently looked into 'food intolerance', which is different from an allergy, in that it manifests over a long-period of time and is much more prevalent in the Western world. There is a simple test you can do called 'the Pulse Test', if you google Dr. Arthur Coca 'the Pulse Test' you will find a pdf of his book for free. Basically, you just monitor your pulse and see if any food items accelerate it, and eliminate those food items from your diet. There is some indication on the internet that this might help adrenal fatigue, for example:
"If you are constantly eating something that is causing inflammation or autoimmune response, you are asking your already tired adrenal glands to continually maintain elevated cortisol levels to supress the inflammation. Now imagine if your sensitivity is to wheat, which is consumed in at least one form at nearly every meal, either as a main feature, or as an ingredient in the canned soup that you used, or the soy sauce you marinated the meat in. The unrelenting exposure to an allergen is an often unrecognized contributing factor in adrenal burnout."

I hope you get better soon!

SnapDragon. I was suprised also. I did the questionairre in his book and I had every symptom also. I have been taking his adrenal gland formula. I am having green juice everymorning. Yesterday we sipped on watermelon slushy w/lemon. Since I found out I am feeling better because I am focusing on cleansing my adrenals. I do get B-complex shots every 2 weeks those seem to help me also. I am really trying to detox and cleanse. I wish you all of the luck. I am so tired of being tired too.

True, fat over taxed the kidney, it is best to do only herbs / fruits but whatever improvement you can do in your diet is something to be very grateful for and it helps you to aim this goal of tissue rejuvenation.

You could try a good adaptogen like schidandra. You can get organic whole schisandra berry.

I looked that Dr. up on YouTube, since I am in PA and can't make an appointment, and I searched his name and Adrenal Fatigue and got lots of videos about lots of things, but that.
Can you send me a link or at least let me know that name of a video I could specifically look up?
Thanks so much!

Great, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! That's the main thing.
Regarding food intolerance, normal allergy tests unfortunately won't show it because it is very different from allergies. According to the books I'm reading on the topic now, something between 50-90% of Westerners suffers from it without knowing, and most doctors can't diagnose it. Results are fatigue, headaches, irritability, inflammation and phlegm, high blood pressure, even cravings for food... and many different things with different people.

Thats great to hear. I have been feeling really good but not kid like yet. Hoping that would come. I am just wondering why I never learned this before. I have been feeling like crap my whole life and then one little questionairre in a book changed it for me.
My daily routine is: Blended watermelon with lemon for Breakfast
Spinach/water/O.J for lunch. Snacks are fruits. Mangos. I take the adrenal formula 3-4x a day. I am drinking the Heal all tea daily. Plenty of water.

Great advice everyone. It's so important to know that there are natural alternatives for adrenal fatigue. As a former adrenal fatigue sufferer, it’s so important to know that others are going through this and have found a way to get better. One thing that really helped me was taking 2,000-5,000 mg of vitamin C. Here's another site with good info:

I'm wondering about this too. I've been eating a lot of sweet fruits and drinking smoothies for a week and all of a sudden I am crashing and want to pass out. Normally, I'm not tired and don't need sugar nor ever feel like sleeping during the day. I don't get it but it doesn't make me want to continue. I stayed home this weekend. I can't imagine having to go through this tomorrow at work because who wants to lose their job because fruit made you unable to function? I just don't know what to do. I did a juice fast a few weeks ago and did not have this problem but I can't fast forever.
By 12pm today, I had already consumed about a pound of bananas, 8oz of salad greens, (green smoothie, but I did eat some of it) 1-2 cups of berries.. it really made no sense.

WaitWut. Bananas seem to slow me down to much. You need to drink lots and lots of water with them. I don't really eat them that often anymore. I eat more water fruits like watermelon and mangos. You can still have your juices and eat your fruits. This is what I am doing now and I feel great. I am finally starting to loose weight I gained and a high banana/date diet.
