Cruditas

I am 48 years old and live in the panhandle of Florida. I have suffered with both kinds of Lupus (systemic and discoid). I have been diagnosed since 1996. All of the typical problems, discoid rash, joint pain, low grade fevers, kidney involvement, blood clots, etc. I have known for quite sometime that my diet played a crucial role in how I felt. I have not eaten red meat in years and subscribe to a mostly vegetarian way of eating. This January I had one of the worst Lupus flares that I can recall. I do not know what triggered it but I reached a point that I was willing to, and did, try anything. Raw foods seemed worth a go. This was on February 2, 2012.
I have never felt better in my life:throwhearts: My symptoms are all but gone. I have more energy and have lost 12 pounds to this date. I began at 158. I have had some fun changes with my body. I no longer need deoderant, my skin is great, I had a fatty tumor on my thigh that I have had at least 10 years that the dermetologist said not to worry about and it has all but dissapeared. I was in semi-menopause and now sleep through the night without waking with night sweats. I have had a thyroid goiter since 1999 and will go back to my endocrinologist in June for an ultrasound and will keep you posted on how it has (or has not) been affected.
Raw foods have changed my life for the better. I sometimes struggle with the preperation as I work full time, but it has been all worth it. I plan on continuing on this path:eat
