What do you eat for breakfast?
I'm looking for some ideas. I normally have a green smoothie, but find myself hungry again before lunch. I guess I either need to make my smoothie more filling or I need to have something to go with it.
Please help me... :wuv

Fruits lots of fruits. Sometimes I cover them with agave and almond butter.

Fruits. Lately, I've been keeping a bag of grapes on my desk. :) That seems to satisfy.

Alissa's Lasagne, chili, burgers.... whatever you want. People keep saying fruit. If fruit doesn't satisfy, eat what does.
Eat a huge salad with mixed lettuce, cole slaw, avos, bananas, grapes, sunflower seeds, etc. Eat!
Feel free to eat between "breakfast" and "lunch".... have more smoothie, some nuts, figs, dates... eat!

Here is one of my favorite b-fast recipes. Mashed banana and avacado sprinkled with blueberries and agave nector. So good and filling.

Revell's right...but if "breakfast" food is what you want, go for it!!! Alissa's Morning, Noon, and Night Pancakes with Eggplant Bacon (RFFE), Chia Pudding, (RFFE), Pineapple Apple Salad (LOLF), Granola (RFFE), and the list goes on! Her recipes are satisfying and delicious! Try um!!!

How is it you think you're not supposed to be hungry between "breakfast" and lunch when all you're doing is drinking a smoothie? (Ingredients and size unknown)....

I think a lot of people get hung up on meal labels.I don't eat breakfast. I eat something when I get in to work. I keep variety of things in my desk drawer and I munch at them through til about midday. Fruit works best for me during the AM. I don't think I would manage on just a smoothie between my arrival at work and that which work calls my lunch break. You just need to find what works for you and the best way to do that is remove constraints and preconceptions of what a meal is.

Yes... and Yes! Very sensible info! I rarely eat til at least 'brunch' time and sometimes not til lunch. That's what works for me most days. If I'm hungry I eat. Simple.

Lunch would normally be my third meal of the day but if you want the smoothie to keep you going for longer throw some seeds in to it or maybe some macca.

I usually only have fruit, but once a week I sometimes feel like eating something oatmeal-ish. That's where chia porridge comes in.
2 tbsp chia seed
Nut or seed milk for desired thickness (I like hemp milk)
You'll need to add to it to make it taste good. Here's some ideas: 2 tbsp hemp seed, coconut shavings, 1 tbsp tahini or almond butter, vanilla, cinnamon, maca powder, lucuma powder, dates, raisins, goji berries, coconut oil, cacao/nibs, flax seed, nuts, carob, banana, apple, etc, etc, etc. Never has to be the same. So delicious, filling and energizing. Enjoy.

Chia pudding with lemon juice, slice of banana and berries, is delicious and quite consistent.
Granola made of sprouted buckwheat and dehydrated, add apple cube, raisin, cinamon and vanilla. For the milk, just use hemp seed(1 part of hemp seed/3par of water or more) or any nut milk.
Also, you can mashed banana with a fork while adding raw cacao and hemp seed in it. It is very filling
I prefer to stick with fruits or green smoothie in the morning but at time, i could have a heavy breakfast.

Banana slices drizzled with almond butter and honey!
This is the perfect pre-workout snack too!

Buckwheaties! Soak hulled buckwheat groats overnight, rinse often to get rid of the gelatinous covering. Sprout and dehydrate. Save some soaked buckwheat to make milk. Add some cinammon and stevia - delicious breakfast!!

I add soaked buckwheat seed to my morning green smoothies and don't get hungry for hours. It works well as a low-fat source of protein. Other than that, I eat whatever sounds good for breakfast.

I usually go with a big green smoothie. Delicious.
Tomorrow I'm going to try some chia pudding based on someone's special recommendation in another thread ;)

I go with what I want. Yesterday it was watermelon. Today I got up with the intention of having either watermelon or my smoothie but when I got to the kitchen all I wanted was bananas so that was what I had.

You can still have your smoothies in the morning but make sure that you have a good breakfast, a hard meal in the morning so that you have an energy for the whole day. Always remember that breakfast is really the most important meal of all. Just make sure that you eat the right food for yourself.

I am a fan of the banana breakfast. You can have it if you want to be fit. If you want a heavy one, include a lot of fruits that are easy to carry out like tomatoes, apple and berries.

I eat the same thing. I found the recipe in Ani Phyo's Raw Food cookbook. I swear by it. I have them everyday. It's called Buckwheat groat cereal. I have it with home made almond mylk and either strawberries, bananas, or blue berries on top. I like it because I feel like I'm eating cereal, the way I've been doing my whole life (mostly).

'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' is a lie we've all been told !! In fact if you delay your first meal till lunch, then you've already had a 12+ hour fast which is good for your body. I've had a very busy work schedule and just never had time for breakfast, and its very easy to get used to it after a while. I start the day with a cup of hot water with lemon, maybe green tea.
You can make a proper breakfast if you have time, or just keep your favorite snakcs, nuts, fruits handy so you're not tempted to eat something bad.

Sometimes if I have a long day of work and won't be able to eat for, say 7 or 8 hours straight, my breakfast is a cup of soaked oat groats, rinsed and blended into meal. If I want something sweet I add in a small banana, berries, ect. If I want it more like grits, I add sea salt and pepper, some marinated mushrooms, and olive oil mixed with some avocado for a buttery taste :)

What a great idea! I never thought of using oat groats in a savory meal. Brilliant!

Yes... it is really important to have breakfast so that your body could remain energetic till you have your lunch. And of course eating raw fruits and vegetables is a good idea for remaining in a healthy mode. So dear friends try to follow this and experience great results!

Can you eat buckwheat groats soaked but NOT dehydrated? Because I thoughtlessly bought a pound of buckwheat groats, but I don't have a dehydrator and I don't want to use the oven, as it's probably a pain…
Living Food

Yes, just sprout them for 2 days. It's even better then just soaking + dehydrating because they'll have a lot more nutrients this way.

Oh no! I don't think I can sprout them, as my buckwheat groats seem ground. Did I buy something un-raw? Meh.
