Flax seeds are generally considered difficult to sprout, because when you soak them, even for a few seconds, they clump up into a mass of goo! I figured out a way around this problem. I sprout flax together with millet seed.
I start by soaking two TBSP of millet seeds overnight. Then I drain the millet seed, and add two TBSP of flax seed. Shake the jar up good so that the millet and flax are evenly distributed. Then give the millet and flax combo a quick rinse. Give them a quick rinse twice a day and in a few days you will have millet and flax sprouts.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think this might work for chia as well.

They look good! :)

Thanks for the tip! I have tonnes of flaxseeds that I need to use up.

I Imagine flax would mix well with most seeds that require an overnight soak, but I use millet because it is cheap and because, in my opinion, millet needs a little something added to make it a really nice sprout.

The traditional way to sprout mucilaginous seeds is to spread them out on a damp surface such as a face flannel. Make sure they can drain well and keep the flannel or whatever growing medium you are using. This mixing method sounds interesting though.
