Day 1 of eating raw, still unsure of how it all works, so stocked up on the basics while i read more into it. lots of fruit and seeds. Made my first smoothie this morning, strawberry's kiwi and water, quite nice but i think i will switch the water for ice next time. Got sesame seeds to pick at while i work, i pick all day while i work so it is good to have something that is not to fattening.
I am very overweight and have tried numerous diets but i never really feel healthy on them so looking forward to all the health benefits i have read about. Hopefully this will be a change of life style for me creating a slimmer healthier me :D

Hi Jingles and welcome!
Theres TONS of great information and support here! Also check out Alissa's books and dvds for incredible recipes and even an eating plan.
Try adding some bananas to your smoothie, along with some greens like spinach or kale! It's GOOOOOOD.
Anyhow just wanted to welcome you aboard -- if you stick with raw you will definitely be able to reach your goals! :heart
Welcome Jingles. I too am new and still trying to figure things out. This is what I'm currently doing:
Every day, I have a smoothie made out of green leafy stuff. I alternate spinach one week and kale the next week. This is very important. In the raw, the green stuff is chocked full of awesome compounds that benefit our bodies greatly. You need to get leafy greens in everyday. To make it eatable, I add 1-2 bananas and 1-2 apples. I think I may add romaine lettuce to the rotation (not the romaine hearts that they put in salads, but the green leafy stuff outside the hearts)
Then, after I get the green leafy stuff in, it’s a free for all between fruits, nuts, seeds and sliced veggies. I also like to throw in an avocado here and there (they are so good). Salads are an obvious choice. If you are curious about how to eat salad without dressing, don’t fret, there are several awesome raw salad dressing recipes on the forum.
Don’t get too stressed if you don’t have all the fancy equipment. A blender is the most basic thing you’ll need to start (sounds like you have one).
I encourage you to look at the monthly 100% raw challenge threads and read what everyone is eating every day.
Good Luck and Welcome.
