Today is my 7th day on 100% raw. Everything was going so great the first 4 or 5 days but the past couple of days I've been feeling really shitty. I have really uncomfortable stomach discomfort, feel very worn out and feel nauseous. Detox? Why was I feeling so good and energized the first few days and have this happen almost a week later though? I figured detox would be happening the first few days. I want to stick with raw. There is no other way of eating that I like more than how I feel when I'm raw but this sux! Support? Thoughts? Feedback? How long for the detox symptoms to subside?

It will pass.
It will pass quicker if you stick with raw.
Stick with it because it is so worth it.

They last as long as they last ~ might be a day; might be a week. No one, and I mean no one, can tell you when you're going to detox or how long it will last. The issue is, are you willing to go through it and through to the other side for vibrant, ongoing health?
One thing I know about humans is ~ when they don't like something, they think it will last forever. When things are going well, they think it never last. This too shall pass.

Thank you both for your replies! I want to stick with it! This feeling is sucky but I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If its detox it would make me very happy actually. I guess what worries me is that maybe this isnt detox. I started off feeling really great and 5 days later I feel crappy. I suffered from candida before I went on raw, I wonder if thats coming back? I've read a lot that those with candida can treat it through a raw food diet without even worrying about cutting out fruit. The only way that I can stick to raw is by allowing nuts and fruit. Its more important to me to stick with raw than to go on a standard candida cleansing diet (meat and veggies). My challenge when doing raw has always been trusting that everything will work out in the end. I always start raw and then stop because I dont trust, not because its difficult. In all honesty, its not that difficult. What makes it difficult is if I dont allow myself freedom as far as fruit and nuts are concerned. But most of the time when I allow myself the freedom I start thinking " is this too much sugar? is this too much fat? what if i gain weight? what if i break oiut? what if the candida comes back?" etc. This is why these forums help me so much. I can come on here and read what everyone has to say about their experience and hearing that others have gone from eating a crap load of raw food to a very balanced raw diet inspires me

Then you step back, evaluate what you're doing, and make some changes. In the meantime, don't waste your time worrying about it. That's kinda like worrying "am I going to get hit by lightning today?" Fretting about something that in all likelihood isn't going to happen is going to do a lot more harm then those hypothetical things ever could.

Cocomamba: are you blending the food?
Maybe 100% raw is too much to start off with. l never started with 100%, l went 80% overnight and ate fruit and nuts all day and then ate LOADS of alfalfa sprouts before my main dinner at night. l continued to reduce the fruit and nuts [over time] and increased the sprouts until l was almost eating all sprouts until dinner (l did this for several months). When l went 100%, l blended most of my food and never felt sick or tired, but l had huge splits in my hands and feet for months and it was terribly painful...l thought my hands were going to drop off.
Maybe you could ease off a little for a few weeks, because there is nothing worse than feeling sick.
Also: maybe you could do a quick colon cleanse (over the weekend) to get the toxins out of the pipes faster.

Yes, definitely sounds like classic detox. The food is really starting to move all the toxins inside you. lt will pass.

Sorry if i repeat with others because i haven't read the replies.
It is called healing crisis. There isn't any difference in term of symptom with illness and healing, EXCEPT during the healing crisis, you are truly healing. Something in your body is healing. Keep the faith, this is all good not pleasant during the process but so good.
You will get better.
Sending you a big hug during this time and hoping you feel better soon!

Thanks for the encouraging words Raw Angel Mom! I feel much better today. I stuck to my guns and didnt eat anything cooked and I really dont want to anyway!
Mr.Raw, I am blending but not sprouts. I'm doing green smoothies in the mornings and soups in the afternoons. The only solid stuff I have are some raw homemade desserts that I occasionally have and salad. It really does suck to feel sick but I hate even more the way I feel when I eat cooked stuff. I really hope I can work up to eating mostly sprouts. Its pretty hard now though because I kind of feel a bit nauseous at the thought of sprouts. It must be that my tastebuds havent yet changed. I enjoy very flavorful rich foods right now. Occasionally I'll think about rice, or bread or any cooked food that kind of weighs you down and the thought of a salad doesnt seem appetizing but a nutty concoction does. I hope this is just a transition because I know that eating too many nuts and fruits is not the healthiest.

too much of anything isn't brilliant. The key is knowing what is too much of things for you.

Its hard for me to say whats too much for me. I have moments where i just want to eat because im craving something. Im thinking about food cinstantly. Lately ive also been impatient and very snappy. Im assuming thats part of detox
