I'm slowly transitioning into raw and doing at least 60% raw for a week now. I rarely ate raw foods before. To give you some background I'm 5'4''. 330 lbs. I've been on a restricted 1500-1700 cal diet (not raw) since September and have lost 64 lbs since (my highest weight was 394). I've started doing green smoothies 1-2x a day which mostly consist of mixed fruit and kale or spinach, or sometimes a veggie smoothie for lunch and lean meats, veggies and quinoa etc for dinner. For snacks I'll eat a few raw nuts or organic yogurt kefir. I'm still eating at least 1500 cals a day but I'm constantly tired and sometimes feel dizzy even though I'm not hungry. Is this normal? Any advice?

^ Congrats! That's impressive weight loss. :cheer:
The dizziness doesn't sound too good. I haven't experience that myself, it would suggest you're lacking in some nutrients somewhere. Maybe it's just a detox symptom though? People get really weird detox symtoms, especially if they're releasing a lot of weigh. Tiredness is definitely part of detoxing. Your diet sounds pretty good from what you've said. Just make sure you're getting a variety of greens, fruit and nuts.
Maybe someone else will have better advice. It's hard to really know for sure, I don't want to assure you it's a detox symtom if you're really lacking something you need.

I would watch it a bit.
Unless you are super on-point with your habits, you will certainly be coming up short in some areas.
Best to either hire a professional consultant or take it a bit easy.

Water. Hmm. I don't know why I didn't think about that. That was the first thing my BF asked me tonight when I told him and he commented he hadn't seen me drinking much water this last week. He's right. I haven't been. I drank a bunch tonight and feel much better. Thanks everyone :)

I know a fellow who used to be 350 plus and he just eats more raw foods. He needs more obviously And stay the course. It's worth it.

I don't know why I didn't think of that. Probably because I'm murder for not drinking enough water either.
Glad you sussed it out, hope that's the end of your dizziness problems! Good luck!

I drink at LEAST half my weight in ounces. I'm 155lbs so I drink about 80oz a day. Some people need more and some need less. I also judge it by if my pee is clear or not.

I've been real good about drinking 64 oz plus a day till I started smoothies. More smoothies. Less water. No bueno. I made sure I drank a glass of water before I even started my smoothie today and have continued drinking it all day. No dizziness. Feeling 100% better. Yay!

Just wanted to mention.......
If you have been feeling faint then take your time getting up from a sitting or laying position. And if you begin to feel faint or get blurred vision.....going down to one knee and taking full deep breaths will typically help.
My brother went on a fast and tried to power through the "faintness" he was experiencing and ended up passing out and falling onto the toilet while he was peeing. Ouch....... Then as he got up and walked down the hall he passed out again. He hit his head twice. Luckily he's a brute and didn't hurt himself, but being a brute he thought he could power through it and passed out three times eventually.... It's like the saying goes.....third times a charm... LOL

For me drinking lots of water really helps me since I have been eating raw which has been over a year now. You may also need to eat more.

Thanks for the tip fastfreedom. I haven't been getting faint since I upped my water. I added a lil more fat too and Im feeling better. I dont think I was getting enough fat but those tips should come in very useful if I have this problem again. :)
And yes, the video RawFoodMom posted is awesome. I'm going to show it to my boyfriend. I'm trying to get him into healthier foods. He's a big red meat and dairy eater and in total denial of his blood pressure problems. With him pressing 40 it's scary.Diabetes and high blood pressure run in both sides of his family so he's a prime candidate for a heart attack...He watches his calories but doesn't eat many nutrient dense foods.... BUT... he's enjoying the foods I'm making so far so hopefully the changes he's seeing in me will encourage him to do the same. :) Great video!
