What is the deal with pizza...
I have enormous cravings for it, practically every day it seems at times. I can't understand it, I am even allergic to wheat and dairy, although you can buy or make gluten free crust. I have heard a while back that vegans always crave cheese, and that the cheese subsitutues sometimes don't seem to taste like cheese.
Is it the carb high or the warm coma that pizza brings? I don't understand this craving, and know that a kale salad would be a lot better than pizza, but I've always just craved pizza, and it can basically arrive at my door within an hour. Yesterday I felt like I couldn't even function until I ordered a pizza, maybe I am low on protein or calcium, if craving cheese and pizza.

If you are low on protein (what you really mean are amino acids here) and calcium your best bet is a large dark leafy green salad with various sprouts like alfalfa and lentils!
Chew your greens very well to get maximum benefit. It helps to make sure your food is mixed well with saliva to help break it down.
You'll also feel better physically and emotionally if you eat the salad rather than the coma inducing dead food pizza. ;)

Thanks for the great advice, maybe if you are low on protein, you are low on amino acids and as a result low in serotonin, so maybe craving pizza is just looking for more of a boost, which from my experience dips you down afterwards to a cheese coma..! Leafy greens and kale sound much better as choices.. it's that greasy cheese that just drives me crazy !

I'm a cheeseoholic too. It's one of the hardest things for me to give up. Raw cheeses are no comparison. But cheese isn't that good for you and makes you feel gross if you are raw. I just keep reminding myself how I felt last time I ate too much of it. LOL

If you crave cheese, watch the movie a diet for all reason OR a diet for a new America. I can promise you, you will be done with dairy.
There are many easy recipe to make a raw vegan cheese. They are totally satisfying.
Alissa's pizza is good anything she makes is great.
If the craving persist, you could consider a detox just with juicing or from simply raw or whatever it feels right to you. Detox, you don't do nut, salt or oil. It is to help to detox your body. It could be a mono diet with fruits, it could be with smoothies etc.....
All the best!

I don't know where you got that from! I've been vegan for years and though I used to like cheese it's not something I ever craved particularly. It was always creamy sweet desserts for me. Everyone has different cravings, some have none at all.
I think you're probably suffering more from your mind craving pizza and the ease of being able to get it. All of my slip ups have involved ready to go type food, I haven't cooked myself a meal (that would be so pointless!) since going raw.
You need to concentrate on relating cooked food (especially greasy food, someone just has to mention grease and I don't want it) with that horrible sluggish feeling, with feeling unwell, down and even that greasy skin feeling. I always just feel GROSS after eating fried food. Like I need a really long shower and need it all out of my system.
