I'm Barber.. my name, not my profession... I'm 39 and over weight... I'm a heavy equipment operator which contributes to my problem, as I sit in a cab for 10 to 12 hours a day... I know I have to do something, and after watching Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead last night, I think that juicing might be it...

I did some reading today on juice machines and found that the Breville 800jexl Elite kept coming up as one of the best, so I ordered one and it should be here sometime this week... So I guess Friday my wife and I start this thing... I'm both excited and worried to get started... cause I'm a meat and taters kinda guy... I mean I dont like vegetables at all, so I know I'm already at a disadvantage...

I'm 6 foot tall and weigh 350 pounds.. man that hurts to type out.. so I need to lose right at 150 pounds... I plan on going on an all juice diet, and I'm going to shoot for a month... but if the weight is coming off good, and I feel as good as I've been reading I will.. Then I'll try an stick with it until I hit my goal...

Friday sometime I'll start a thread in another section to keep track of my progress (hopefully I'll have some)... I know I'll have a ton of questions as I go along, and I'll probably need some encouragement too...

I'm sure you'll love veggies and fruit when you try it raw and juiced. You may need to ease into the greener juices but carrot, apple and lemon is a good base and you can add small amounts of greens to start with and then more and more until you wonder how it was you ever thought you didn't like veggies, fruits and greens.

Start with something you like - say apple juice for example.
Try another juice on its own and see how you like that.
Mix no more than say 3 (or perhaps 4 at a pinch) things to start off.

There are lots of fav juices posted here and some will suit you and some won't. Just because you don't like them all is no reason to give up.
