Hello Everyone. I was hoping to find a thread of 'Eating Raw and Acne'. I'm sure there have to be some on here. I seen a youtube video of a girl who went raw and her face cleared up. I have changed my diet already. Previously I was eating..well crap. Now, I eat mostly veggies and fruit. I also have a yummy green smoothie daily. I do allocate a very small portion of my diet to grass-fed/organic meats and organic quinoa/oat bran. Since Quinoa is technically a seed is this considered raw? I have eliminated all processed foods, refined sugars, pastas, dairy, among other things that make me break out. In doing this my acne has cleared up significantly, but I am still getting a few breakouts/week. Unfortunately, with each breakout I get..I also get a nice ice pick scar and/or horrible PIH left behind forever. So, even a "few" wreck havoc on my overall skin appearance.
Some of the raw food recipes look really yummy, of course there are ingredients I have never heard of or seen before. I'm also desperately missing sweets, and a lot of the raw food deserts  look like they may not affect my acne. I just wonder if I would have to go 100% raw to get 100% acne relief?

Hi and welcome!
It sounds like you're already taking steps in the right direction to cure yourself, so congratulations!!! I'm not sure how you're preparing the quinoa -- if you cook it, it's not raw. You can sprout it, though. This is a vegan board so we don't discuss eating animals here, but I would definitely recommend you drop that from your diet!!
Honestly, the only way to know if 100% raw will cure your acne is to give it a try -- I say, go for it and see what happens! What do you have to lose? I believe a raw diet can cure ANYTHING, and as your diet becomes cleaner, it does do amazing things for skin. Also it's fun -- and YES, there are some really great recipes and yummy desserts you can have, I had a strawberry shake for dinner last night hahahhahaa!
Also keep searching through the older threads on this board, there have to be many threads about treating acne! You can use the banana icon at the top of the screen to do a search for "acne."
Best of luck and welcome! :heart

Thanks for the reply. I apologize about the meat comment, I hope I did not/do not offend anyone. I did go raw today (yay). Made a 'zucchini pasta' dish with avocado sauce with asparagus and peas. It was super yummy. I'm trying to find super easy raw food recipes like the one I made today. I was missing pasta soo much, I practically inhaled it lol. The zucchini makes a superrr nice pasta! Who knew! I didn't!

No worries, nobody's offended here!
Good for you for jumping right in!
I LOVE the food and yes zucchini noodles are one of my favorites!!!! Another super simple way I like to have them is with chopped fresh parsley, olive oil and fresh ground pepper, YUM! Add in some sundried tomatoes and it's just TOO TOO GOOD hahahahahhaa
Welcome and enjoy!
Anyone seeking to heal themselves of chronic acne needs to seriously address the health of their internal organs, most notably the bowel, liver, gallbladder, pancreas etc. Here's a relevant thread to make a start with, although please note that it's generally best to cleanse the bowel before other organs. I'd go into more detail here but I'm typing this on a touchscreen phone so I have to be brief. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?48992-Question-about-wrinkles

Thank you. I have seen (but yet to read all of it and take notes) the thread, thank you for sharing that with me. You are very knowledgeable.
Of course, not everyone agrees with my perspective on acne ( http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?67873-Acne-Vitamin-D-and-what-do-you-supplement-with), but such is life! ;-)
