My partner is about to undergo brachytherapy for prostate cancer (sadly we have tried so many alternatives and cancer is still spreading) and for the next 2 weeks has been placed on a low residue diet. This diet allows him to eat white flour, rice etc, well cooked vegies and all other stuff I believe will hasten his decline to un-wellness. I am feeding him lots of green lettuce (apparently ok), avocado and dehydrated mushrooms as well as cooked pumpkin etc. Has anyone any ideas on other healthy foods, anyhone been on this type of regime before? I want him as healthy as possible before they poison him in hospital.

also that diet from hospital is way lame . ide be juicing raw dark greens like crazy . if i ate cooked itd be vegi soup home made no canned stuff . also steamed vegis . if needed more filling stuff ide eat the vegis over brown rice
and salads are huge with all kinds of dark greens - avacado - broccoli - mushroom - chopped walnut - seasme seed - tomato - etc
and fruit aten with almonds or walnuts makes good meals

One person "Dr. Morse" He has reverse thousands and thousands of chronic condition. I heard him saying more then once that pancreas cancer is easy to reverse. He does that with fruits and herbs. You should contact him by phone even. He often give free consultation for emergency. It is best to pay for his time always but you can call him for free.
Google Robert morse on youtube search for morsend.
Miracles happen and nothing is impossible.
All the best!

Hi yoginat ~ I just asked my husband to verify as his close friend and co-worker had prostate cancer a couple years ago. I don't know if the procedure is the same as your partner's; but they implanted cesium seeds, localized in his prostate and he's completely cured now. Take heart if this is the path your partner has chosen! My husband said shortly after implanting the seeds, his PSA returned to normal levels. :)
I'm unfamiliar with a 'low residue diet'. I just did a quick Google search and it listed vegetable juice as an option. Like the boys said - you can pound the veggie juice. Perhaps something like a V8 would suit his taste? Maybe with lots of cilantro or parsley? I don't know what all he's allowed, but it looks like low fiber so they have slow stools...

I would be juicing too like crazy. I know there reasoning on this. The treatment is lowering his white blood cell count dangerously low. He will have a hard time fighting off infection. Therefore they say fresh uncooked produce carry some bacteria. To us its ok to him it could be deadly.

Thank you so much to everyone for taking the time to reply. We have been on the raw food path, juicing etc for over 2 years and unfortunately we don't have the support of people like Dr Morse here in Australia and my partner has been bombarded with very negative advice. (I'm sure a lt of you here can relate to that) He has chosen this path now and I am honoring that - I was initially kicking and screaming against that choice. The good news is that he is happy to juice and we have found a good medium through lots of greens and some cooked veg.
Deb - thanks for the positive comments - I'll let you know how it goes
