Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer, I'm from Virginia and here is my (short version) story:

I've have always loved my fruits and veggies...and I mean LOVE. Every day would consist of at least a salad and a hefty serving of veggies at every meal. When I was a kid, people would always comment to my parents about how good of an eater I am and how for a child I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I've always looked for veggie substitutions instead of fries or starches in restaurants, and then ENJOYED them. I could easily sit and eat a barrel of fruit a day and be so happy and content.

Not only do I enjoy produce, I enjoy all different types of food. I am a foodie. Anything new that I haven't tried before, I want to try. I like experimenting and discovering new recipes. I can sit and talk with anyone about food all day.

Over the years I began to eat more and more sugar and processed food and less and less fresh raw food.

Fast forward til 2010, I decided I had to "clean" up my act and give up sugar and salt for lent (lent is the 40 days before Easter every year and I always take that opportunity to do something to better myself)....So anything with salt or sugar was completely out of my diet. It felt great. I started to get really good at turning down snacks and sweets, until my birthday which was 2 days after lent ended...I wanted birthday cake soooooo bad. After that, food has been more than an object in my life and I started into a downward spiral of processed junk. I was stuck, and I couldn't get out.

What really scared me was the entire month of Jan 2012, all I ate was grilled cheese, mac and cheese, candy, cupcakes, etc. I was eating like a kid! sugar sugar sugar. I think the only thing healthy that I had eaten was 1 apple ALL MONTH!

So this year for lent....you guessed it! I cut out EVERYTHING but raw fruit and vegetables. Even nuts and seeds.

I am now 2 weeks in and feeling amazing! I'm losing weight, I'm hydrated, I'm sleeping better and best of all I'm eating healthy again. Kinda funny how that works when its all you allow yourself to eat!

So long story, not very short ( but it could be longer) here I am. Raw, ready, thriving on delicious food.

Thanks for reading!
