I haven't been here in a long time, although everything I learned and practiced about eating raw has stayed with me I unfortunately fell into the SAD diet mantra... don't eat fruit, too many carbs, protein protein protein, blah blah blah.
I loved the way I felt eating this way and truly believe it's whats best for my body, it's how I can heal my body, BUT this is the problem I'm having.
I am a green smoothie freak. I used to not worry about how much fruit I was putting in (namely bananas) because I always balanced it with lots of greens. Now I'm scared to use the amount of fruit I need to make them palatable because there's a loop playing in my head (the carbs in that banana will turn to fat!)
Someone help me out, this is a faulty thinking right?

only you can really help you with that thinking but you've identified it as a fear and so that at least is a start.

This is just a side note, but I wanted to toss it in. If you're wanting to get your greens on - you might like trying a "blended salad". Since I've been eating these (1-2 times per week), I haven't wanted a fruity green smoothie.

What I like to do is dice up 1/2 a sweet pepper and put it into a bowl and pour the soup over the top, adds some nice crunch. I also add cumin to spice it up a bit. I love this stuff!

is a blended salad kind of like gazpacho? I have been thinking of trying that for dinner lately...

Well - a blended salad is completely blended, it's smooth - another name would be a savory smoothie.

Mmmm ~ gazpacho sounds so good for dinner!

Use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to eliminate your fears. It's easy and, it works!

^ I was going to suggest that.

This is the sort of thing I use it for.

I made a thread on EFT in the health section if you don't know what it is, have questions or want to discuss it: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?67744-Eft

thanks for all the replies everyone, I'm super curious about the blended salad/savory smoothie, I guess I would eat it out of a bowl instead of with a straw like I do for my regular smoothies...

I always think that one day I'm just going to drink the 'savory smoothie' out of a glass, but I never have ;) Well, I do enjoy the diced sweet peppers in there and eating it with a spoon. Give it a whirl, you may be as surprised as I was on the taste. Now, my husband doesn't care for them so much...so they're not to everyone's taste ~
