I just can't wait to get started

Hi, my DH and I are now reading Allissa's book and enjoying every word. It seems the answser to our prayers. We both need to lose weight but the main reason is for our health. I'm on medications and looking forward to the end of that. The recipes look so wonderful and since I love to cook I can hardly wait to get started.We should be on the raw food plan by the middle of November and we'll be 100% raw. :D
A little about us, we live in New York, in the north part close to the Canadian border. We have 2 kids that are grown and 7 grandkids and 4 step grandkids.
We are animal lovers but since our little dog (Shorty) died last summer we just haven't been able to get another dog yet but we will eventually. Normally we like to have 2 or 3 dogs around us so when we go to the shelter we will be making some dogs very happy. We have 2 feral cats that we take care of outside, both female and now we have 5 kittens from them. We've managed to get one tamed but the rest are still wild.
I'm a full time housewife and I love it. Hubby makes cheese, LOL, fulltime.
I'm so looking forward to getting to know people here and learning all I can about raw food living.

Hi Snowposy, Welcome!!! glad you are here. I think you will like it here. folks are very friendly and supportive. Nice to see yet another animal lover. Have you gotten Alissa's book yet? I used to live in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Are you close to there?
