l'm not sure where to place this thread.
Last night l received a very important 3 hour video discussion from Hippocrates Health Institute that discusses the nasty truth behind 92% of supplements sold in health food shops today. In this video, Hippocrates director Dr Brian Clement discusses the reality of these poison supplements.

Brian has also written a brilliant book which talks about all of this.

There is either truth or untruth but not real truth.
Moving on - I have always considered health supplements to be over-priced and probably not efficacious. I haven't clicked the links; I don't like Clement much, he gives me the creeps.

I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but I can't help my instinctive reaction to him. He doesn't help himself by not publishing all this data you claim he has though.

I came home from work one day and my wife had been watching Dr Oz on TV. She wrote down a list of five food supplements that he said are important in fighting cancer. I don't remember all of them but I know that selenium and chromium were on the list. So I sat down at the computer, went down the list and googled "selenium in food" "chromium in food" etc.
It turned out that every supplement on the list is available in large doses in something I was already sprouting or juicing. It did make me feel really good about the approach I am taking to manage my cancer.
P. S. I told that story to an annoying lady that goes to our church and she told me about a miracle nutritional supplement that I "have to get on that will prevent my cancer from coming back" best of all it only costs $99/month.
I don't think I let her see me roll my eyes.

Sure some chemical supplements might fight cancer and kill it off in the short term, but lets not forget that the body isn't designed to consume chemicals, so long term abuse of these so called cancer fighting supplements might well cause free radical damage which can lead to cancer in the long term anyway. Most supplements are chemical, and many of them have various types of nasty solvents that the companies don't want you to know about. Most anti-oxidants are supposed to slow down free radical damage, but in reality they cause more free radical damage than they fix. Even Chemotheraphy is supposed to cause cancer. You need to be careful of doctor's claims about helping cancer, especially with mainstream t.v and other doctors in the mainstream media or connected to celebrities (they are too connected to big business and the illuminati).
The best way is to change your lifestyle to a healthy sproutarian lifestyle because it is full of nutrients and anti cancer agents (much more than any other foods), especially PHYTONUTRIENTS!!!. But even more important is to have a positive attitude and be happy. Meditation is also great.
The `linus pauling institute' at the Uni of Oregon found that the phytonutrients in freshly squeezed wheatgrass kills every form of cancer known to man and every bad bacteria tested, and even the pro-medical/drug University `Hopkins University' found that Brocolli sprouts have the single most potent anti cancer phytonutrient ever discovered. Hopkins Uni even published the research instead of burning it, amazing!!!
Doctor advice on mainstream t.v, radio or in big newspapers = walk away from as quickly as possible, especially when celebrities are mentioned.

You just have to be able to see through the crap. What I gleaned through that guy's advice was that I was on the right track with sprouting and juicing.
O by the way, I love the term you used "sproutarian lifestyle"

lf the grasses are vibrant and not too fiberous, why not. Some grasses are great, some grasses are not so good. lf you get a really good grass, it will be the finest land food of them all. l'm not just a big fan of juiced grasses, i'm a HUGE fan of juiced grasses.

touching on another thread where there is mention of multiple universes it would seem likely that there is no "real truth" (how I dislike that phrase).
It seems likely that everything is both truth and untruth simultaneously.

Even Chemotheraphy is supposed to cause cancer.
ALL drugs are poisons, but chemotherapy is the worst of the worst. Even if the pharmaceutical companies wanted to find a cure for cancer (and they most assuredly don't), they could never make a drug that cures cancer. All drugs are poisons, but chemotherapy is an intentional poison - doctors take some of the most lethal chemicals known to man and call it "chemotherapy", withthe hole idea being that the cancer cells will (if you're lucky) die off just before the rest of your cells becasue they are growing and multiplying faster, and thus taking in more substnaces (nutrients and poisons) from their environment. The whole thing is really absurd...there are dozens of cures for cancer and there always has been dozens of cures for cancer, although of course that informaiton can't go to the public...cancer alone is a multi-billion dollar industry.
Hopkins Uni even published the research instead of burning it, amazing!!!
Lol. Sad but true that it's suprising that they did that.

You can grow many sprouts just in jars, no need to use fancy sprouters. Why don't you look at this thread (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?64973-Sprouting!&highlight=sprouting%21) for sprouting tips and instructions. Good luck (you won't regret it)!

Even if the pharmaceutical companies wanted to find a cure for cancer (and they most assuredly don't), .
They have come across things which they know stops cancer, but they have no interest in curing anything because there is no money in it. They prefer treatments, but even better than that, they prefer treatments that take a lifetime such as with diabeties patients and people with mental problems etc...that's where the money is...a constant income stream over a lifetime.

I certainly know doctors who are not on board with this but, unfortunately they are most trained by people who are.

I didn't watch the video, but i will look into it when i can spare time. I know that i don't supplement anymore. I keep a close eye on my B12 level and i have been perfectly fine. I might occasionally do e3live or spirulina are chlorella but i haven't for so long. I feel that once you get a good healthy GI track, allow your gland to rejuvenate, you lymph to unclog and kidney to rejuvenate, you are on the right path. With my three long water fast, i know my GI track is in good shape now. I wouldn't even take digestive enzyme anymore because of what i have learned recently. Nothing good cans come with if you isolate an ingredient. Nature created food in balance and we need to trust her. Love my sprout too, lol... Especially in our Winter since, you cannot find fresh produce here. I cannot do without fruits. Anyway my next goal is to work on my other system such glandular, lymphatic and nervous system (Eyes are connected to this system).
All is well

Thanks for all of the sprouting info and links. I picked up some glass jars today along with cheese cloth and rubber band. I have wheat berries, lentils, and sunflower seeds soaking. While we were at the market we saw fresh organic sunflower sprouts. My daughter ate the whole pack. I am glad we are growing our own they were $4.00 for a tiny package.
I was wondering if there is a sprout chart anywhere online??? I know there is one in Alissa's book but I loaned it to my new raw friend.
Thank you again.

Wheat berries = soak 12 hours, sprout in dark if eating them or sprout in light if growing grass. Eat after 2 days.
Lentils = soak for 8 - 12 hours, sprout for 4 - 5 days to get rid of uric acid, sprout in dark
Unhulled Sunflower = soak for 10 - 12 hours, sprout for 1 - 2 days in dark(depends on weather), and put on soil with a cover over it in the dark for another 3 or 4 days in the dark (put some heavy books on the covers so the seeds get anchored down into the soil), and then take cover off and leave in indirect light until they are greens.

I'm pretty sure Alissa's books also have soak/sprouting charts. Though I can see why Sproutman's chart (http://www.amazon.com/Sproutmans-Turn-Dial-Sprout-Chart/dp/1878736159/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336412395&sr=8-1) might be nice to just shove in a kitchen drawer and have it for quick reference. Honestly once you start sprouting it comes very easy and it doesn't take long to learn how long to soak different seeds and how long to sprout them.
When we set up our seed jars I labeled them with the name on one label and on another label I put the soak times and how much to use for a quart jar. We sprout them until they look how we like them, usually when the jar is full.

Sorry Tracey, that was for Raw Angel Mom. I know she has the books. :)
Mung beans are something I haven't tried yet. I know they like to be grown under pressure so to speak and I haven't come up with a good way to do that yet. Trying different sprouts is fun! I love watching how fast they grow and fill the jar.

Great plan. I have been planning to do the same thing with clover, and amaranth.
My ultimate goal is to get all of my sprouting seeds from either plants that I grow myself, or gather the seeds from wild plants. I want to grow all of my cereal grass seeds myself, but don't have anywhere near enough space to do so what with all of the grass juice I drink. I'm thinking that a better plan might just be to use wild grass during the early spring, when it's rapidly growing and chock full of life force, then collect wild grass seeds to sprout throughout the year. Has anyone here tried to sprout wild grass?
