Just curious as to when detox would normally start?

I am only on day 4 of almost 100% raw, with the last few weeks slowly building up to it.

This afternoon my skin started to feel hot and burning a bit, now mid evening, it is on fire, I have washed with water, and covered in Aloe moisturiser but it is still on fire.

Could this be detox? I thought it was more cold/flu type symptoms, maybe with spot breakouts.

I, too, am in the same boat. I feel like I am coming down with the flu. I'll bet it is detox. I think the more raw you are at the beginning, the sooner you will experience detox. For me, I have been eating a lot of raw food, but not 100%. Now that I have been 100% for 3-4 days, I am feeling really sick. Hopefully it won't last long.

Your skin in burning? What do you mean by burning? Your face or all over? Is this something you've felt before?

I'm confused by the symptom. I've never experience that in my life unless you count having a reaction to a medicated cream. SKin burning sounds more like a reaction to something than a detox symptom.

It is the kind of burning from an allergic reaction.

It seems to have calmed down over night. I do have sensitive skin, so I wonder if it is related to that.

I haven't changed any creams in the last 2 days, and I always use natural skin products.

Anything unusual that happens right now, I'd consider it a detox symptom.

When I first went raw, on the third day I got hit with a flu-like detox w migraine and nausea that literally kept me in bed for two days. Then I was fine until around day 9, when I got another bad headache that lasted for 3 days. However I did a very radical switch to raw -- I started with a juice fast, so my detox was much harsher than it could've been!

Basically it's different for everyone. Some people get colds, migraines, flu-like symptoms, then there's emotional detox where people get weepy or depressed and experience all kinds of emotions as they pass through.... right now I have a very strange pain in my wrist, which was broken about 5 years ago and is suddenly aching so much!!! I understand this is part of my detox now as my body is doing some overdue repair work..... Also as I've posted elsewhere I've had hair loss as a form of detox, too.

Your skin is a very large detox organ, so it's not surprising you'd feel heat like in an allergic reaction or have breakouts..... just try to relax and know that whatever the symptom, detox always passes eventually!

OR maybe you ate something and had an allergic reaction to it? Have you eaten anything different lately?

I agree with what qwerty988 says, "Anything unusual that happens right now, I'd consider it a detox symptom." It is different for everyone.

Personally, I didn't get my first detox symptoms until 30 days of being 100% raw, and I was very weak, very runny nose, didn't want any food and water was even a chore, headaches, achy all over...just very bad flu symptoms. I was sick in bed for 10 days.

I've been eating raw now for over 8 years and have had at least 3 major detoxes during the first 4 years. One of my major detoxes was very scary for my husband as I got pneumonia and was in bed for about 10 days. I used to smoke and so am pretty sure the pneumonia cleared out my lungs. I haven't had any medicine, drugs, or pills in over 10 years. I was so bad that my hubby was practically begging me to see a Dr. and get antibiotics...but I believed in my body and now I"m healthier than ever.

In the past 4 years, I haven't had any major detox, just very minor detox here and there.

My advice is the same as qwerty988: just try to relax and know that whatever the symptom, detox always passes eventually!

I wish you the best in your raw food journey! :)
