I've read multiple sources that say that when juicing oranges--in this case, using a masticating juicer--one should remove the rind, or it'll make the juice bitter.

But I recall reading some years back that adding rind--i.e., the orange part, the zest--enhanced flavor, that being where all of the aromatics are.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is there a sweet spot, so to speak? A balance in how much rind to use, i.e., half a rind for each eight juice juice oranges?

I don't use any rind and I don't like the pith juiced either.

I juice a lot of oranges - every day in fact. To be honest - I do not include any rind, I just don't care for it at all.

I don't like the orange rind either, however I do juice lemons and limes whole.

I read somewhere that the rind/pith had a lot of vitamins and minerals, but I noticed while juicing it does make the juice taste more bitter... Not too great actually. Then again, the entire orange has a lot of nutritious value so leaving the bitter part out isn't going to ruin the value of the juice.
