I have been eating raw for three month and I have been vegetarian for over 15 years.

Recently I went to raw organic restaurant and they did not tell me that in some food that I ordered were onions. I am allergic to onions, seriously, it is like a poison for my body, for some reason I do not know why. Anyway I came back home and I had diarrhea for three days(that is what onions do to me) so after three days I developed hemorrhoid, for the first time in my life. It is scary.

So now it is been a month since i got this problem. Plus I can not understand why I have constipation I eat lots of veggies and fruit every day (being raw). So can someone help me to understand what is going on; hemorrhoid, constipation? Thank you so much!

sounds as though the onions caused the problem and you might find it helpful to try a juice fast. Might be just what your system needs - some rest and tlc.

The hemorroid needs time to heal and juice will be gentle on it.

Thank you, Georgina for you help, nice to meet you here. I am thinking to go on three days apple diet. But still I am not sure if it will help me.

Don't forget to drink plenty of water also.

Georgina's advice is good. A fast will make stools cause less strain while your body recovers from the 'roids AND will give you lots of nutrients withOUT bulk/fiber.

If you cannot tolerate onion, you can live without. I used to use them all the time and i don't use them anymore.

Are you ok with ginger or garlic. They can be replacement for recipe

Anyway, all the best with your fast, apple are a good choice especially if you consider to do a liver cleanse, they loosen up the stone in your liver. Do what feels right to you and you will do wonderful.

Apple or any semi acid fruits, will pull out the bad stuff in you and when you have any problem with digestive issue or elimination, fasting is the way. After your apple fast, you can consider a water fast. Research deeply before and most of all learn how to brake a water fast if you do any. It has done miracle in me.

All the best!

p.s I am not a medical doctor

You mentioned constipation in spite of a relatively high fiber diet - I would suggest the hemoroid was probably a secondary effect of what is causing your constipation or an effect of the constipation itself. The most common cause of such constipation in spite of a good diet is insufficient hydration. Another common cause is the use of dietary supplements - particularly those with iron. Other far less common causes include things like colon polyps (vast majority are not cancerous), certain medications (NSAIDs, antidepressants, diuretics, and many others), inflammtory bowel disease (like crones), depression and a dozen other things. Since you mentioned an allergy, its possible that you experience bowel inflammation due to "onion intolerance" rather than a traditional sort of allergic reaction.

Considering your reaction to onions and the ongoing symptoms, I would hazard a guess that you may be experiencing persistent but relatively mild bowel inflammation which was severely antagonized by your allergic reaction to the onions. Since constipation has persisted since then I would think that something you are eating is also causing bowel inflammation though to a much lower degree or that the inflamed tissue has remained inflamed because of another underlying issue such as a predisposition towards it inflammatory bowel disease (it's really not as scary as that sounds and that probably describes far more people than you might imagine.)

If you've been including raw garlic in your meals, try going without it for 3 days. Garlic intolerance and onion intolerance have a high rate of occurring together - though the severity of each varies dramatically even in people with both. Since people who have intolerences to each tend to react more strongly to the raw garlic and/or onions it's possible that you'll just need to pull back on how much garlic you use now that you're using it raw. That's not actually a bad thing though - if you are garlic intolerant and suffering bowel inflammation from it's far better to know than not to. Even if you never noticed any symptoms with cooked garlic but turn out to have a noticeable reaction to it cooked, it may have still be causing a low level of inflammation that would have put you at greater risk for bowel complications later in life from chronic issue damage.

You might want to go see your doctor if this persists despite ensuring you are properly hydrated (don't over-hydrate either), aren't taking painkillers, have a good diet as you sound like you do, and rule out having a much milder garlic intolerance along with your severe onion intolerance. It's most likely something simple - like drinking a little more liquid, being careful about what supplements you're taking, or one of the ingredients you're using disagreeing with you. They can probably help you better figure out what you're reacting to and whether it's JUST onions or a range of things of which onions just happen to be the worst - if that is the case then knowing would allow you to prevent unknowingly repeatedly causing inflammation and tissue damage to your bowels and possibly reduce risks of nasty things related to that.
