I'm trying to feed my kids mostly raw, and I'm feeling a little lost sometimes. With a vegan menu I knew they had to have their legumes, lots of fruit, vegetables, and some whole grains, and they were covered. Now I'm confused. I don't know if they're getting enough nutrients. They don't drink a lot of green juice or green smoothies. Fruit smoothies are okay, but they need greens for iron. They eat a bit of salad, and some sprouts, but my 23 month old won't have very much of anything. It's so much easier to feed him a bowl of lentil soup than salad with sprouts, so I worry he's not getting enough...
Anyway, I thought I'd start this thread so I can have an idea of what other kids menus look like.
Here is what my 5 year old daughter had yesterday:
200ml carrot juice
100 ml apple celery juice (mostly apple)
1 banana
1 apple
5 strawberries
200 ml smoothie with banana, orange juice, raspberries, flax seeds, chia seeds, and a tsp of pea protein
1.5 cups of green salad with alfalfa sprouts, romaine, cherry tomatos, and ground cashew "cheese".
100 ml of almond milk with cacao powder
1 tsp cashew butter
That's it. My son had about the same variety, but in teeny tiny quantities.
Okay your turn ;)
