Hey guys. My name is Alia, I'm a 24 year old chick from Florida. I've had a looooong time desire to switch to a raw diet but it's never been easy when I tried and I never had any support. Two days ago I randomly became super inspired and motivated to do it, so I did. I'm now on day three of a completely raw vegan diet. I'm having a lot of fun doing research and learning all about it. I don't have any major health problems right now, but I am overweight and suffer from a lot of anxiety and depression. After only these three days, I feel super alive, vibrant and happy. I'm actually looking forward to detoxing as I've had a particularly poor diet these past few months. Anyway, super glad I found this place. I look forward to interacting with everyone. :)

edit: I wanted to add in that I was raised as a vegetarian from birth, and didn't start eating meat until I was about 13. Because of that, I've always had somewhat of an odd relationship with meat and I don't find it tremendously difficult to part with. :P

Hi Alia! Im so happy to hear your story! Im in month seven of raw veganism and I was obese with a lot of anxiety and depression too, and raw food has totally changed my life - no more anxiety, no more depression! Im so glad to hear you are feeling better already.

That is awesome and inspiring. I'm happy to hear of a real case of this lifestyle change helping with mental issues like that. Did you experience anxiety or mood swings when you first started? I'm only on day four but I seem to be starting on this roller coaster of emotions and stuff right now. It's weird. ><

There is usually a period of detoxing for anyone making such a major shift towards health - remember to drink lots of water throughout the day and I always feel cleanest and best when I am eating lots of greens! I hope you find some balance soon. :)
