me me me!!!!

I'm starting a smoothie feast today, and hopefully by the 1st I can kick this cooked food habit. Today is the first day of Lent (while I am not Catholic, the church I attend does practice Lent). I'm trying and PRAYING to give up wine and cooked foods!!!!! lol

I'm in. I like the idea of starting Raw for Spring too (is very season orientated).

I've already started saying hi in the February thread but March will really be my raw challenge month. Looking forward to meeting everyone else! :wuv

Hi Everyone, this is my first post, though I have been trolling the site for quite a while. I just found out that I am PREGNANT :throwhearts:
I was told by several doctors over the years that I could not have babies, due to aggressive endometriosis, but after about 6 mos. high raw (about 80%) I very unedxpectedly found out that I have a little one on the way! My husband and I are shocked and excited, we have been married for 5 years and had resigned ourselves to the fact that we would probably never have kids of our own.
Now that I have a baby on the way, I am determined to have a healthy, raw pregnancy. This will be my first official monthly challenge, and I am excited to continue my raw journey!

Congrats on the pregnancy! That is awesome!!! :woohoo:
Proves how healing raw is. I also had been diagnosed with severe endometriosis. If only I knew then what I know now.

Hello March! :throwhearts:

Getting very serious now ^_^ quitting smoking... which was never really an intention when I started this. I just wanted to change my diet but smoking just seems like a pointless bad habit now. I smoked when I was stressed/anxious/tired and trying to stay up/hungry. That's all kind of irrelevant now. I'm also noticing how bad it makes me feel, it's starting to make me feel a bit sick.
I like smoking but it's disadvantages vastly outnumber the good things about it and it's so counterproductive on a raw diet.

I'm going to follow the 4 week plan in Alissa's book starting today. I think it'll be easier sticking to something and have an organised plan so I don't have to think about what I'm buying/making too much until I'm used to it. Even though it's day... 10 for me?

I will be joining all of you and I'm hoping with Spring right around the corner, that the fruit will start coming into season, YUM!!
I was here in January, then didn't feel like posting everything in Feb. but need to come back to doing that to keep me on track ;)
See everyone tomorrow!!
Cathy

^ I always feel like Spring is a good time to get serious about reorganising your life for the year.

I'm quite season orientated (as I think I said earlier) and I always found Spring pretty uneventful and slow so it's a good time to work on yourself and your goals.

Then there's all the fruit/veg coming into season soon.

I've always been quite intuitive about what foods my body needs. I think this is emphasised even further on a raw diet. After week 1 I was craving heavy food and the last couple of days I have eaten tonnes of nuts, avocado and coconut. Now if I see a coconut I feel like I'll throw up. Some very light salad and fruit is in order. I think watermelon then later watercress, lambs lettuce or maybe baby pac choi or chinese leaves. I'll maybe leave Alissa's starter plan until tomorrow.

How does this work? Do you just post once saying you are doing it or do you provide updates? Yesterday was great for me. It was the first day in a long time when I didn't eat a little "SAD" food (I think that's what you all call it). I think this challenge is the reason. It's keeping me accountable. Thanks for this.

I think updates are welcome. I post what I eat some times.

Okay, me too! I'm in;D - albeit a day late...;D. I am following the book... or...at least I am going to try. I made the fetuccini alfredo and yikes! So much food! I think my stomach got a little sick from all the nuts. Gave up coffee today too, and boy oh boy, what a headache! Gotta lay down....

PansyLo

^ Me too! I think the fetuccini alfredo and the salmon pate are delicious (I made the first three things and the dressing all on day one and just stuck them in the fridge to last the next few days). Really heavy on the nuts though I agree. Too heavy for me too, I'm having small portions with salad and more if I'm hungry.

I was never much of a coffee drinker, I liked it but only if made with freshly ground coffee. I quit smoking though!

Why are there two threads now? Which one are we to use :S

Wow! Smoking! That's a biggie! Good for you! I'm glad you're following the book too - the recipes are amazing, and quite yummie! I just made the date nut torte - I love it! ;D. I'll make the salmon pate tomorrow -- goodnight all;D.

I am thinking of starting the April challenge, but there are two reasons why I post it here. Firstly we can't post it on April's till April comes, but can't wait lol. And also, I'm short of going to start the challenge tomorrow. My thought was to finish what I've got in my fridge already and then start a raw diet of pure whole fruits mostly and some salad during the day. Like this Monday will be mostly a banana day and that Tuesday a strawberry day... That will not be that strict, cause it seems so so boring, difficult and a waste of products if you haven't managed to eat all Monday's bananas and here comes strawberry Tuesday. But on the other hand, that way I won't get discouraged by planning and shopping and 'cooking' unknown raw foods (unknown for me), while I can keep on track my calorie intake (cause I could use some weight loss -however small that might be).
So, yep, transforming March I'll call it ;) And coming back for the April full challenge!

Thank you qwerty988 ! Just before, I was watching some zumba videos and got motivated to add a dancing routine or sth, just to add movement to my day, but I'll definately won't promise anything concerns excersise cause I know I'll brake it.

Traceyraw, the mom suite? lol! BURN IT in advance!
Want to feel better? Listen to my case. Spring comes, we are about to switch to thinner clothes and I don't know what to wear as I look like I'm pregnant. Not joking. They've offered me their seat on the bus while I thought my black coat was covering any excess. Just rediculous!!! Well, I'm overweight, but at least my health is better than last year, and THANK GOD I won't have to give labour. That thought makes me feel a lot better
