right now im eating a "healthy" diet, and that's how I regularly eat because i'm an active individual and I care about my body.

I say "healthy" because I just figured out that what i'm eating isn't really healthy, you know the oatmeals, chicken breast, whey protein, chicken breast type stuff.

So anyway, after learning more about our agriculture and poultry industry, i was really turned off by it...

I since ordered an omega b2300 blender online. Should be arriving by friday the 24th. I already have one of those juicers that i've been using for years, but i'm totally missing out on the fiber etc lost from the extraction process.

ill be dropping my whey protein and slowly weening myself from cooked meats. For now, i'll probably have at most one cooked meal a day. I'm going to start buying only organics and raw foods for the most part.

already found a farmers market that I can get my organic produce from every friday, i'll just work with what's available. I also ordered spirulina, chlorella, raw almonds, golden flax seeds, chia seeds and medjool dates. All of those are organic.

is there anything I need to keep an eye on so I don't have any deficiencies?

i know thats a lot of info, so thanks in advance to those who have enough patience to help me out.

That's a very good start actually. Grow some of your own greens like wheatgrass and some sunflower sprout greens, even sprout sesame for a hearty meal. Some of the most important foods for so many good reasons l have mentioned in my previous posts over time. Fresh highly potent sprouted greens are absolutely vital.

You may want to find a Vitamin B12 supplement. Recent research says we can't use the form of B12 found in the few plants that actually have it. Personally we just started using nutritional yeast to cover our B12 but I know opinions vary on whether you should use it or not being raw. Another thing I recently learned was to expose the underside of mushrooms to the sun's rays and they really jump in vitamin D.

Also, remember to soak those almonds, and any other nuts, to remove the enzyme inhibitors. :)

Nutritional yeast only has B12 in it if it is added so be sure to get the sort that has it if that is the reason you use it! I can't stand the taste so that is my mind made up before I start!

thanks for the replies everyone! I'll look into the b12 issue...

so even the b12 found in chlorella will not be sufficient?

yes, indeed...I will be sprouting my nuts and seeds.

I would go get check my level of B12 now and check again after 6 months.

If you are deficiency, it most likely because something isn't right in your guts. Leaky guts, mucus forming (dairy and animal product will do that) and even parasite ( they eat your B12). There are tone of myth about B12 and most people that are B12 deficiency is only because of what is going on in their GI track.

I don't supplement anymore and your best bet is to simply monitor, don't got into too much fear about B12. If you do choose to supplement, google "Japan B12 research".

If i was you, i would definitely have a plan to do a 30 days 100% raw vegan food. Get Alissa's dvd and her first book and i can assure you, you will have the fever. It is far more easier to do then you can think. The sooner you ditch the dairy or any animal food, the better it will be for you. Watch also a diet for all reason and a diet for a new America, you won't do dairy ever again.

Once you get comfortable with raw food, consider doing a deeper detox or juice fasting, to help your body to recover from those years of doing animal food and cook food.

It is a journey. Educate yourself as much you can.

Adding greens is without question a great move.

Congratulations for taking the plunge!

I've already decided to ditch dairy products :D, almond milk taste better to me anyway. I've only been using almond breeze, but now that I can make my own with raw sprouted almonds, I bet it'll taste even better!

question...

I've decided to start growing some stuff like wheatgrass, mung beans etc. but I have a more specific question regarding the wheatgrass.

After about 10 days of growing the wheatgrass, lets say they're about 7-8 inches tall, do I need to harvest it all at once? Or can I just keep it there in the tray and just cut what I need for the day? Also, can I just toss the whole grass in the blender as I don't have a juice extractor like the ones I see most juice bars use.

thanks again everyone!
