Need help adding photos...

Since I last added photos with my posts something has changed on this site as it used to be so easy to put photos here. Now, I find it impossible and could really use some help.

Here's what I do:

When starting a new post I click on "Manage Attachments", then "Add Files", then "Browse", then I choose the picture I want to add to my post, click on "Upload" and then nothing happens???

Please help???

This is how I do it.

First of all click reply (doh! but it has to be said for completeness of instruction!)
This is what your screen will look like - more or less.

Click on the little square picture of a tree as per arrow.

Now you should get the picture below. There are two tabs. One for uploading from the computer and one for remote hosting ie flickr.com or similar. I have my own hosting so I mostly use that if I am not uploading from my computer.

Let's presume that you are uploading from the computer. If you have problems then try the basic uploader which you can select bottom right. Sometimes that makes the difference between it working and it not working but I don't know why.

You select the file by hitting select then browsing for the file you want and then click upload.


The next shot shows what the remote hosting option is like. Just paste the complete image location into that box.

Actually,

Aleesha has let Alissa know this problem. Their computer guy/gal is working on it. I'm not sure if its something that can be fixed quickly or not. It may be a little more complicated then we realize and thats why its taking a while to fix.
I'll let them know its still a problem.

Can you tell what the file type is that you are trying to upload? Is it a .jpg or a .gif or is it a .something-else? .jpg and .gif usually work but other file extensions usually often won't. So if you have edited the picture in photoshop for example you will need to save it as one of those two rather than the photoshop extension which. Sorry if you know this all already but it sounds as though you have access to the uploader itself which some people seem not to have.

I signed up for an Image Shack account to see how easy it would be to use for those having problems.

It might be worth trying.

Once an image is uploaded, I selected the code labeled "Forum Code"
and copied and pasted that code directly into the reply window without clicking any image icons or uploading anything directly to the forum.

www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us) if you want to try that. It's free for a non-premium account.

Our web god has looked into this and can't find any reason it's not working. So all we can do at this point is wait for the next forum update and hope it fixes itself.

Yes - I'm using PhotoBucket. And then I copy the IMG code and paste it directly into the post.

Hi walnutty ~ Yes, I'm using Photo Bucket and then I simply copy the IMG code directly here into the post. Works like a charm!
