Well, recently green popcorn has been my obsession.

My blender's out of commission and while I await my replacement, I've been having at least one meal a day of either green popcorn (cauliflower + spirulina + salt + nutritional yeast + cayenne).... or cheezy yellow popcorn (hold the spirulina).

This morning, though, I played with the spices and the end result tastes a lot like Doritos! Tonight I'm going to make a batch and let it dehydrate..... this is supposed to lend a slightly-crunchy-on-the-outside/soft-on-the-inside texture to the cauliflower.... but I have to say I LOOOOVE it fresh!

What I added to my cut-up caulifower was:

A few drops EVOO
nutritional yeast
salt
onion powder
garlic powder
cayenne pepper
smoked chipotle chili powder

Per Phil McClusky's recipe I shook this all in a ziplock bag and smooshed it until my arms were tired. Delish!!

Has anyone tried dehydrating this kind of recipe?? I'll post my results.....

This sounds good. I tried the plain way with the nutritional yeast, cayenne and salt, but it was just okay. First taste for me was ok, then it got a little better but then lost whatever charm it had for me in a short time. Maybe adding the additional spices will help. I'm going to try this. Thanks! :)

I'm interested to hear of your results. I tend to stay away from corn because it's a pretty much a GMO crop, so I don't make rawritos. But subbing the corn for cauliflower sounds like a good idea. :eat

Hahahhahaa -- YES, caulitos! Love it!

Anyhow, I definitely recommend eating them fresh..... the dehydrated ones I made last night were just "meh".

Oh well!
